ചുംബന സമരം മുന്നോട്ട് പോകും, കാരണം സാമൂഹ്യ വികാസത്തിന്റെ, ജനാധിപത്യവൽക്കരണത്തിന്റെ വിശാല താൽപര്യങ്ങളിൽ ആണ് അത് അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്

ചുംബനസമരത്തിന്റെ വക്താവായി കൊണ്ടാടപ്പെട്ട രാഹുൽ പശുപാലൻ ലൈംഗികകുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങൾ ആരോപിക്കപ്പെട്ടു അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടതിനു പിന്നാലെ ചുംബനസമരത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്യേശലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളെയും അതിൽ പങ്കാളികളായവരെയും അധിക്ഷേപിക്കുന്ന തരത്തിലുള്ള പ്രചരണങ്ങൾ ചില കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും ഉയർന്നു വരുന്നുണ്ട്.എന്തു തന്നെയായാലും കേരളത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ-സാമൂഹ്യ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ വളരെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഒന്നാണ് ചുംബനസമരം.അതിന്റെ വക്താവായി അവതരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയും കൊണ്ടാടപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്ത ഒരാൾ ആ സമരം ഉയർത്തിയ പുരോഗമനമൂല്യങ്ങൾക്ക് വിരുദ്ധമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു എന്നത് കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം അതിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ-സാമൂഹിക പ്രസക്തിയും പ്രാധാന്യവും ഇല്ലാതാകുകയില്ല.
കോഴിക്കോട് ഡൌണ്‍ടൌണ്‍ റസ്റ്റൊറന്റ് അടിച്ചു തകർത്ത യുവമോർച്ചയുടെ സദാചാര പൊലിസിങ്ങ് നടപടിക്കെതിരായ പൊടുന്നനെയുള്ള പ്രതിഷേധം എന്ന നിലക്കാണ് ചുംബനസമരം ആവിഷ്ക്കരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്. വ്യവസ്ഥാപിത രീതികളിൽ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ അതിന്റെ സംഘാടനം തുടക്കം മുതൽ തന്നെ ചർച്ചയായിരുന്നു.ഫേസ് ബുക്ക് മുതലായ നവ സാമൂഹ്യ മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കൊണ്ടു അയഞ്ഞ രീതിയിലുള്ള ഒരു സംഘാടനമായിരുന്നു 2014 നവംബർ 2 നു നടന്ന ചുംബനസമരത്തിന്റെത്. സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസ്റ്റുകളും,മത സംഘടനകളും,പുരുഷാധിപത്യബോധം പേറുന്നവരും, പിന്തിരിപ്പൻ മൂല്യങ്ങളുടെ വക്താക്കളും ചുംബനസമരത്തിനെതിരെ അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ഒന്നിച്ചണിനിരക്കുകയും സമരത്തെ കായികമായി നേരിടുമെന്ന് പരസ്യമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. സദാചാര പൊലിസിങ്ങിനെതിരെ, സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസത്തിനെതിരെ, പുരുഷാധിപത്യ മൂല്യങ്ങൾക്കെതിരെ,നമ്മുടെ സവിശേഷ സാമൂഹ്യാവസ്ഥയിൽ ഇതിന്റെയെല്ലാം ആശയാടിത്തറയായ ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യത്തിനും,മതസങ്കുചിതത്വത്തിനും എതിരായ തുറന്ന വെല്ലുവിളിയായി ചുംബന സമരം മാറി എന്നതായിരുന്നു അതിനു കാരണം. ചുംബനസമരത്തിന്റെ ഈ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രസക്തിയെ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിച്ചു കൊണ്ടാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ സംഘടനയായ ജനകീയ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ പ്രസ്ഥാനം ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ള പുരോഗമന സംഘടനകൾ ചേർന്ന് രൂപീകരിച്ച പുരോഗമന ജനാധിപത്യ കൂട്ടായ്മ എന്ന പൊതുവേദി സമരത്തെ പിന്തുണച്ചത്‌.എന്നാൽ ഈ സമരത്തെ പിന്തുണച്ച എല്ലാവരും സമരത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തെ സ്വാംശീകരിച്ചത് വ്യത്യസ്തമായ രീതിയിലാണ്.എന്തായാലും കേരളത്തിലെ പുരോഗമന പക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വലിയ പിന്തുണ ചുംബനസമരത്തിനു ലഭിച്ചു എന്നത് വാസ്തവമാണ്.വിവിധ സംഘടനകളും വ്യക്തികളും വ്യത്യസ്ത രീതിയിൽ സ്വാംശീകരിച്ച ചുംബന സമരത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിനുള്ള പിന്തുണയായിരുന്നു അത്.അല്ലാതെ ഏതെങ്കിലും വ്യക്തിക്കുള്ള പിന്തുണയായിരുന്നില്ല.അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ചെറുപ്പക്കാർ സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസ്റ്റുകളുടെയും പോലീസിന്റെയും മർദ്ദനങ്ങളെ തെരുവിൽ നേരിട്ടു കൊണ്ട് ചുംബനസമരത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളായത്. ഇപ്പോൾ രാഹുൽ ലൈംഗികകുറ്റകൃത്യത്തിന് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.ഈ കേസ്സിൽ അയാൾ അപരാധിയോ നിരപരാധിയോ ആകാം.എന്ത് തന്നെയായാലും ചുംബനസമരത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രസക്തിയും അതുയർത്തിയ പുരോഗമന മൂല്യങ്ങളും മുന്നോട്ടു പോവുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും കാരണം രാഹുൽ എന്ന വ്യക്തിയുടെ താല്പര്യങ്ങളിൽ അല്ല സാമൂഹ്യ വികാസത്തിന്റെ ജനാധിപത്യവൽക്കരണത്തിന്റെ വിശാല താൽപര്യങ്ങളിൽ ആണ് അത് അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്‌.

എന്നാൽ ചുംബനസമരത്തെയും അതിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തെയും കൂടുതൽ ദൃഡീകരിക്കുകയും കൂടുതൽ ആഴത്തിലും സമഗ്രതയിലും ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുള്ള രാഷ്ട്രീയമായ കരുത്തോ, ചുംബനസമരത്തെ പിന്തുണച്ച വിവിധ ധാരകളെ ഐക്യപ്പെടുത്തി പുരോഗമന പക്ഷത്തെ ശക്തമാക്കി കൊണ്ട് സാമൂഹ്യ മുന്നേറ്റമാക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ദീർഘവീക്ഷണമോ സമര സംഘാടകരായ "കിസ്സ്‌ ഓഫ് ലവ്" കൂട്ടായ്മക്ക് ഇല്ലാതെ പോയി എന്ന വിമർശനം ഉന്നയിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല. ഈ പരിമിതിയാണ് രാഹുൽ പശുപാലൻ ചുംബനസമരത്തിന്റെ ഏക പ്രതിനിധാനമായി ഉയർന്നുവരുന്നതിനു കാരണമായത്. മാവോയിസം ദർശനമായി സ്വീകരിച്ച സംഘടനകളെയും വ്യക്തികളെയും സമരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അകറ്റാനായി ഭരണകൂടം നടത്തിയ കുപ്രച്ചരണത്തിന്റെ വക്താവായി രംഗത്ത് വന്നതോടെ മാവോയിസ്റ്റ് വിരുദ്ധതയുടെ തിമിരം ബാധിച്ച ലിബറൽ ജനാധിപത്യവാദികൾക്കിടയിൽ രാഹുലിന് ലഭിച്ച സ്വീകാര്യത ചുംബനസമരത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകമായി അയാൾ ഉറപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനു കാരണമായി. രാഹുലിന്റെ പിന്നീടുള്ള ചില ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് ഇടപെടലുകളിൽ പ്രകടമായ സ്ത്രീവിരുദ്ധതയും പിന്തിരിപ്പൻമൂല്യങ്ങളും കടന്നുവരികയും ചർച്ചയാവുകയും ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ പോലും അതിൽ യാതൊരു നിലപാടും സ്വീകരിക്കാത്ത വിധം കിസ്സ്‌ ഓഫ് ലവ് കൂട്ടായ്മ ചുരുങ്ങി പോവുകയും ചെയ്തു. രാഹുൽ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ കേസ്സിൽ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയാണെങ്കിലും വിട്ടയക്കപ്പെടുകയാണെങ്കിലും കേരളത്തിലെ ലിബറൽ ജനാധിപത്യവാദികൾ ഒരു ചോദ്യത്തിന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞെ തീരു എന്ത് കൊണ്ടാണ് ചുംബനസമരം പോലെ ജനങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ നിന്നും ഉയർന്നു വരുന്ന സാമൂഹ്യ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ജനാധിപത്യ വിരുദ്ധമായി വ്യക്തികളിൽ കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് ? കിസ്സ്‌ ഓഫ് ലവ് ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ സമര കൂട്ടായ്മകളും ഗൗരവമായി ഈ പ്രശ്നം ചർച്ച ചെയ്യേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

France: Bloc Rouge (Maoist Unification) On Attacks in Paris Region

New attacks hit Paris. This time it was done on a grand scale, with coordination and multiple operating modes, up to the suicide bombing.

Targets were also multiple. Unlike the attack against Charlie Hebdo and Hypercacher in January, this time targets were less symbolic, more general and wanted to strike the entire population, except the attack in the Stade de France where the target could have been Francois Hollande.

The attack is claimed by ISIS.

We condemn these attacks, as we condemned the attacks in January.

But we will not shout with wolves, any more than we did in January.

We place ourselves once again on people's side, victim of attacks whose leaders are primarily the imperialists.

The different imperialist plunder the world, sowing misery, causing conflicts between people using the ethnic, religious, cultural, etc. differences between peoples. They intervene militarily, directly or indirectly, overtly and covertly. They do all this for the pillaging of raw resources, the exploitation of "cheap" labor, the establishment of local watchdogs and control of strategic areas.

In recent years, the French state is one of the most aggressive imperialism, with several external interventions of different kind: Afghanistan, Iraq, Mali (transformed into a military operation ranging from Mauritania to Chad in the Sahel region), Ivory Coast , Central African Republic, Libya, Syria, ...

It was France who armed the worst reactionaries who claim to fight for Islam in Syria ! Let us don't forget the state propaganda led by the Socialist Party against Bashar Al Assad, comprador bourgeois serving Russian and Chinese imperialists. 

France has armed the Free Syrian Army to overthrow him. The FSA was a breeding ground of the worst religious reactionaries, including Al Nusra Front, one of the worst executioner of the Syrian people. These weapons have ended up in the hands of ISIS with those recovered in Iraq mainly provided by the United States and in Libya by France ! 

On the other hand, the imperialists are enriched through major arms sales worldwide, weapons that eventually end up in the hands of groups such as ISIS in countries which the imperialists have destabilized.

These interventions are all in the name of "democracy", the "human rights", etc. But each time, it is primarily to defend the interests of French imperialism.

These interventions have reinforced, directly or indirectly, jihadist groups affiliated with al-Qaida or ISIS (more recently). And then the destabilization caused by the interference and imperialist interventions themselves serve as a pretext for interference and other interventions.

The imperialists are pyromaniac firefighters! They burn their fingers with the fire they have lit themselves! 

And as always, it is the people of the world who pay the bills.

They are the ones responsible for these attacks! ISIS and other reactionary groups would not exist if the imperialists do not sowed chaos across the planet!

Now Hollande declared the Emergency State and called the army as reinforcements. 

One hears that France is at war. Yes, France is at war, and this is not new! Too many people around the world know it, to their cost.

Our fears following the attacks are several.

Firstly, we fear that the anti-immigrant climate and particularly anti-Muslim and anti-refugees will increase. The fascists of all stripes based on an oversimplification of reality and concealing imperialist oppression and exploitation will push further their propaganda and their attacks. The division within the proletariat and the masses may strengthen. This enhances the possibilities for reactionary mass mobilization, targeting a part of the population as scapegoats.

Then, we fear that the Emergency State allows the state to permanently restrict democratic freedoms such as the right to assembly and demonstration. This is already the case in Paris. We fear a strengthening of the police state under the catchphrase "It's for your safety."

Finally, therefore, we are concerned that these phenomena facilitate access to power of an even more reactionary fringe, maybe even fascist, of the bourgeoisie. It is a possibility much more dangerous than further attacks.

We must see clearly the dynamics that take place behind these attacks. We must appoint the imperialists who seek to reshare the world as those responsible for these attacks.

The only answer is that we must develop the revolutionary struggle to bring down the system who sows misery, war, barbarism, death around the world!

Since last January, we affirm:

No national unity behind the bourgeois republic instigators of wars and misery!

Do not yield to fascist propaganda that exploits barbarism to the account of the bosses!

Let us denounce the reactionary religious criminals that serve to weaken our struggles, to divide the people and to spread dangerous feudal ideas among the masses!

Solidarity with Muslim masses who will again suffer Islamophobic wave after these attacks!

Let us close ranks around the working class, last bastion against fascism!

Imperialism, and France with a role in the front row, has sown the wind in the world and now reaps the whirlwind, and the war that has sown terror and now the war comes back home.

The imperialists have created and supported the ISIS against the people and against those who interposed an obstacle to their interests, profits, oil, geopolitical control of strategic areas of the world and now the ISIS created  barbarians create suicide bombings in Paris.

Imperialism and now the French answer to the terrorist attacks in the worst possible way, with a state of emergency, the political-military-police dictatorship open striking proletarians and masses first and democratic freedoms in the country on behalf of the owners and the reaction.

French imperialism closes borders, triggering xenophobia and racism anti immigrant, imperialism indicates banlieus in fact, that in neighborhoods, in the poorer sections of Paris, the place 'terrorists', when the proletarians and the poor who are always subjected to repression, poverty, marginalization, social oppression, religious discrimination and nationalist chauvinism and racism,Imperialism and the corrupt and unpopular government ignoble Hollande called for national unity to defend the interests of the imperialist bourgeoisie French, around the system and the national economy, to suppress and quell the class struggle, that instead the workers, the exploited and the masses need to step up and do to defend their conditions living and working, their freedom and hopes of a better future.

മാവോവാദി തടവുകാരായ രൂപേഷിന്‍െറയും ഷൈനയുടെയും മകള്‍ ആമി എഴുതുന്ന തുറന്ന കത്ത് - 

ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട ആഭ്യന്തരമന്ത്രി,

രണ്ടു മക്കളുടെ അച്ഛന്‍ എന്നനിലയില്‍, മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ സാമീപ്യമില്ലാതെ വളര്‍ന്ന ഞങ്ങളോട് സഹതപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അങ്ങയുടെ തുറന്ന കത്ത് വായിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി ഒരു കത്തെഴുതാന്‍ അങ്ങ് കാണിച്ച സന്മനസ്സിന് നന്ദിപറയുന്നു. എങ്കിലും അങ്ങയുടെ കത്തിലെ ആത്മാര്‍ഥതയില്ലായ്മയും പൊരുത്തക്കേടുകളും യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യത്തിന് നിരക്കാത്ത കാര്യങ്ങളും തുറന്ന് സൂചിപ്പിക്കണമെന്ന് കരുതുന്നു. 

മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ സ്നേഹമില്ലാതെ വളര്‍ന്നവരാണ് ഞാനും എന്‍െറ അനുജത്തി സവേരയുമെന്നത് വാസ്തവവിരുദ്ധമാണ്. മറ്റേതൊരു കുട്ടിയേക്കാള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ സ്നേഹം കിട്ടിയ കുട്ടികള്‍ തന്നെയാണ് ഞങ്ങളും. എന്‍െറ കുട്ടിക്കാലത്ത് അവര്‍ പോകുന്നയിടങ്ങളിലെല്ലാം എന്നെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുമായിരുന്നു. കഴിഞ്ഞ ജനുവരി ഒന്നിന് അങ്ങ് വയനാട്ടില്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശനം നടത്തിയ ആദിവാസി കോളനിയില്‍ എന്‍െറ മാതാപിതാക്കളോടൊപ്പം എനിക്ക് അഞ്ചുവയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോള്‍തന്നെ പോയി നിന്നിട്ടുള്ളതാണ്. കൊല്‍ക്കത്തയിലും റാഞ്ചിയിലും മുംബൈയിലും ബംഗളൂരുവിലുമൊക്കെ പോകാനും വിവിധ സംസ്കാരങ്ങളും ജനങ്ങളും അവരുടെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളുമൊക്കെ അറിയാനും കഴിഞ്ഞതും എന്‍െറ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകളെ വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് കാരണമായിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇതിന് മാറ്റമുണ്ടായത് അങ്ങയുടെ മുന്‍ഗാമികളുടെ പൊലീസ് നയങ്ങള്‍ മൂലമായിരുന്നു. എനിക്ക് 10 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോഴാണ് എന്‍െറ മാതാവ് ഷൈനയെയും നാലുവയസ്സുള്ള അനുജത്തി സവേരയെയും ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ അനാവശ്യമായി പൊലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തത്. തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ പൊലീസ് പീഡനങ്ങള്‍ മൂലം എന്‍െറ മാതാവ് ഹൈകോടതിയിലെ ജോലി രാജിവെച്ച് മുഴുവന്‍സമയ സാമൂഹിക പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കിറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു (മുന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി വി.എസ്. അച്യുതാനന്ദന് തുറന്ന കത്തെഴുതിയാണ് എന്‍െറ മാതാവ് ഇത്തരം തീരുമാനമെടുത്തത്) എന്ന് അങ്ങയെ വിനയപൂര്‍വം ഓര്‍മിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു. അങ്ങ് പ്രതിനിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന പൊലീസ് തന്നെയാണ് ഞങ്ങളെ അരക്ഷിതരാക്കിയത്. 

അങ്ങയുടെ കത്തില്‍ മറ്റാളുകള്‍ ഞങ്ങളെ തെറ്റായ വഴിയിലൂടെ നയിക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്, അതുകൊണ്ട് ജാഗ്രത കാണിക്കണമെന്ന് എഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യം മറ്റൊന്നാണ്. ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീടിന്‍െറ മുന്‍വശത്തെ വാതില്‍ ചവിട്ടിപ്പൊളിച്ച് ഒരു വാറന്‍റുമില്ലാതെ വീട് റെയ്ഡ് ചെയ്യുകയും വലിയൊരു സംഘം പൊലീസുകാര്‍ എന്നെ അപമാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അഞ്ചുവയസ്സായ എന്‍െറ അനുജത്തിയോട് രൂപേഷിനെ കിട്ടിയാല്‍ വലിയ കല്ലുകൊണ്ട് തലക്കടിച്ച് കൊല്ലുമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. തീര്‍ന്നില്ല, ഒരു സാംസ്കാരിക സംഘടനയുടെ യോഗത്തിനുപോയ എന്നെയും അനുജത്തിയെയും മാവോവാദികളാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് മഹിളാമന്ദിരത്തിലടച്ചു. അന്നും എന്‍െറ ചാരിത്ര്യശുദ്ധിയെക്കുറിച്ചായിരുന്നു അങ്ങയുടെ പൊലീസിന്‍െറ വിചാരണ. ഞാന്‍ കന്യകയാണോ, കന്യാചര്‍മം പൊട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ടോ തുടങ്ങിയ ചോദ്യങ്ങളായിരുന്നു പൊലീസിന്‍േറത്. ഫേസ്ബുക്കിന്‍െറ പാസ്വേഡ് ചോദിച്ച പൊലീസുകാരനോട് ഉന്നത ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്‍െറ മുന്നില്‍ മാത്രമേ തുറന്നുകാണിച്ചുതരാന്‍ സാധിക്കൂ എന്നുപറഞ്ഞ എന്നോട് അടുത്തകാലത്തൊന്നും പുറംലോകം കാണിക്കില്ളെന്നായിരുന്നു പൊലീസ് ഭാഷ്യം. മഹിളാമന്ദിരത്തില്‍ രാത്രിമുഴുവന്‍ കരഞ്ഞു കഴിച്ചുകൂട്ടിയ അനുജത്തിയോട് അങ്ങേക്ക് എന്താണ് പറയാനുള്ളത്? ഞങ്ങള്‍ പങ്കെടുത്ത യോഗം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചവര്‍ക്ക് ഞങ്ങളെ തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എന്നുപറഞ്ഞ് കേസ് ചുമത്തപ്പെട്ടു. യു.എ.പി.എ പോലുള്ള ജനവിരുദ്ധ നിയമങ്ങളും തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ പൊലീസ് വേട്ടയും അവരുടെ ജീവിതത്തെ ദുസ്സഹമാക്കിയിരിക്കുകയാണിന്ന്. ഞങ്ങളെ തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നതല്ളെന്ന് ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ച് ഞങ്ങള്‍ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഇന്നും അവരുടെ പേരിലെ പ്രധാന കേസ് തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എന്നതാണ്. ഇങ്ങനെ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ പീഡനങ്ങളിലൂടെ നിലവിലുള്ള ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്‍െറ പൊള്ളത്തരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഞങ്ങളെ മനസ്സിലാക്കിത്തന്നത് അങ്ങയുടെ പൊലീസാണ്. പൊലീസിന്‍െറ ഈ ജനാധിപത്യവിരുദ്ധ നയങ്ങളാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ആശയങ്ങള്‍ ശരിയാണെന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ ചിന്തിപ്പിച്ചത്. 

കുട്ടികള്‍ രക്ഷിതാക്കളുടെ കരുതലില്ലാതെ വളരുന്നതില്‍ ഉത്കണ്ഠപ്പെടുന്ന അങ്ങേക്ക്, അട്ടപ്പാടിയില്‍ പിറന്നുവീഴുമ്പോള്‍തന്നെ മരിച്ച 150ഓളം കുട്ടികളുടെ മരണത്തിന്‍െറ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തില്‍നിന്ന് മാറിനില്‍ക്കാനാവുമോ? മണ്ണും വെള്ളവും വായുവും വിഷമയമാക്കുന്ന കാതിക്കുടത്തെ നീറ്റാ ജലാറ്റിന്‍ കോര്‍പറേറ്റ് കമ്പനിക്കെതിരെ സമരംചെയ്ത 10 വയസ്സുകാരനെപ്പോലും തല്ലിച്ചതച്ച പൊലീസുകാരല്ളേ അങ്ങയുടേത്? എന്‍ഡോസള്‍ഫാനും പ്ളാച്ചിമടയും അരിപ്പയും ചെങ്ങറയും കാതിക്കുടവുമടക്കം അനവധി ഭൂസമരങ്ങളും മാലിന്യത്തിനെതിരായ സമരങ്ങളുമടക്കം അനവധി ജനകീയസമരങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുന്ന നാടായി മാറിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് കേരളം. ഇവിടെയും അനവധി കുട്ടികള്‍ ജനിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. എന്തുകൊണ്ട് അങ്ങ് ഇവരെയൊന്നും കാണുന്നില്ല? പാര്‍ശ്വവത്കൃത വിഭാഗത്തില്‍നിന്ന് പ്രൈമറി സ്കൂളില്‍ ചേരുന്ന പകുതിയോളം കുട്ടികള്‍ അപ്പര്‍ പ്രൈമറിയിലും മുക്കാല്‍ഭാഗത്തോളം കുട്ടികള്‍ ഹൈസ്കൂളിലും എത്താത്തതിന്‍െറ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തില്‍നിന്ന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുമാറാന്‍ കഴിയുമോ? വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമേഖല വാണിജ്യവത്കരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിന്‍െറ ഭാഗമായി പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിലധികം ആളുകള്‍ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ ലോണിന്‍െറ പേരില്‍ കടക്കെണിയില്‍പെടുന്നതും ആത്മഹത്യകള്‍ പെരുകുന്നതും കണ്ടില്ളെന്ന് നടിക്കാനാകുമോ?

നശീകരണമല്ല, നിര്‍മാണമാണ് നടത്തേണ്ടതെന്ന് അങ്ങയുടെ കത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതാണ്. ഭൂമിയും പട്ടയവും ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാല്‍ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന ആദിവാസികളെക്കുറിച്ചും കാര്‍ഷികോല്‍പന്നങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വില ലഭിക്കാത്തതിനാല്‍ അവര്‍ നരകിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഒക്കെയുള്ള ഒരു തുറന്നകത്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞ ഡിസംബറില്‍ എന്‍െറ പിതാവ് രൂപേഷ് അങ്ങേക്കെഴുതിയിരുന്നത് ഞാന്‍ വായിച്ചു. അങ്ങ് പ്രതിനിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നയങ്ങളില്‍ തകര്‍ന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ആദിവാസികളും തോട്ടംതൊഴിലാളികളും കര്‍ഷകരും അനുഭവിക്കുന്ന ദുരിതങ്ങളാണ് ആ തുറന്നകത്തില്‍ ഞാന്‍ വായിച്ചത്. എന്നാല്‍, ഈ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിന് അങ്ങ് ഒരു മുന്‍കൈയെടുത്തുമില്ല. ഹൈവേ സ്വകാര്യവത്കരണം, കാതിക്കുടം പോലുള്ള മലിനീകരണം, കുടിയൊഴിപ്പിക്കലുകള്‍ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിരവധി ജനവിരുദ്ധ നയങ്ങളിലൂടെ ജനജീവിതം നശിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് അങ്ങും അങ്ങ് പ്രതിനിധാനംചെയ്യുന്ന സര്‍ക്കാറും ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. 

അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ അക്രമികളെന്ന് വിളിച്ചേക്കും. അങ്ങേക്കും അങ്ങയുടെ പൂര്‍വപിതാക്കള്‍ക്കും അത് അക്രമംതന്നെയാണ്. ഭഗത്സിങ്ങും സുഭാഷ് ചന്ദ്ര ബോസും മാത്രമല്ല, കൊളോണിയലിസത്തിനെതിരെ നിന്നവരെല്ലാം അന്നത്തെ അധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് അക്രമികളായിരുന്നു. ജനവിരുദ്ധ നിയമങ്ങളും കാലാപാനികള്‍പോലുള്ള തടവറകളുമൊക്കെയാണ് അവരെ നേരിട്ടത്. ഇന്ന് അങ്ങും എന്‍െറ മാതാപിതാക്കളടക്കമുള്ളവരെ അതേ രീതിയില്‍തന്നെയാണല്ളോ നേരിടുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍, നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലെ സാധാരണക്കാരായ ജനങ്ങള്‍, ദരിദ്രരായ ജനങ്ങള്‍ എന്‍െറ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ അക്രമികളായി കരുതുന്നില്ല. അവരുടെ ആശയങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുമ്പിലാത്തവിധം കേരളത്തില്‍ ഇന്ന് സ്വീകാര്യത ലഭിക്കുന്നത് അതുകൊണ്ടാണ്. സ്വന്തം ഭാവിയും സ്ഥാനമാനങ്ങളും സമ്പാദ്യങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാക്കാനായല്ല എന്‍െറ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ ഇറങ്ങിത്തിരിച്ചത്; അവര്‍ മുന്നോട്ടുവെച്ച ആശയങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു; ഇന്ത്യയിലെയും കേരളത്തിലെയും ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷം ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു; എനിക്കും എന്‍െറ അനുജത്തിക്കും വേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു. തടവറകള്‍ അവരുടെ പോരാട്ടം തടയുകയാണ്. യു.എ.പി.എ-എന്‍.എസ്.എ കൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരെ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ചങ്ങലക്കിടുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ്, അവരുടെ മക്കളായതില്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ അഭിമാനിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത്. 

വ്യക്തിപരമായി എനിക്കെന്തും തുറന്നുപറയാനും പങ്കുവെക്കാനും എന്‍െറ മാതാപിതാക്കളോട് കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. എന്‍െറ സ്വകാര്യങ്ങള്‍പോലും. നല്ല സുഹൃത്തുക്കളായാണ് അവര്‍ ഞങ്ങളെ വഴിനടത്തിയത്, ദൂരെയാണെങ്കിലും. ഈയടുപ്പം അങ്ങേക്ക് മനസ്സിലാകില്ല. വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികാലം മുതലേ സാമൂഹികപ്രവര്‍ത്തകനാണെന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന അങ്ങ് എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് അങ്ങയുടെ മക്കളെ ആ വഴിയില്‍ നടത്താത്തത്? എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് അവരെ കരിയറിസ്റ്റുകളാക്കുന്നത്? സാമൂഹികപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരായ എന്‍െറ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ ഞങ്ങളും ആ വഴി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കണമെന്നാണ് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്. അവരുടെ വഴിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ആത്മവിശ്വാസം ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടാണ് അവര്‍ അങ്ങനെ ആലോചിക്കുന്നത്. ആത്മവിശ്വാസം ഇല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ടായിരിക്കുമല്ളേ അങ്ങ് ഇതാഗ്രഹിക്കാതിരുന്നത്....

ബംഗാൾ തുറിച്ചുനോക്കുമ്പോൾ സിപിഎം എന്ത് ചെയ്യും?

അഴിമതിയിൽ മുങ്ങിക്കുളിച്ച ഉമ്മൻ ചാണ്ടി സർക്കാരിന് ഷോക്ക് ട്രീറ്റ്മെന്റ് ആകുമെന്ന് കരുത്തപ്പെട്ട അരുവിക്കര ഉപതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് ഫലം പുറത്തുവന്നതോടെ കേരളത്തിലെ മുഖ്യധാരാ ഇടതുപക്ഷം ഷോക്കടിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന ചിത്രമാണ് തെളിഞ്ഞുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്. ബിജെപിയുടെ കടന്നുകയറ്റം ഇരുമുന്നണികൾക്കും ഭീഷണിതന്നെയെങ്കിലും കേരളവും ബംഗാളിന്റെ വഴിയേതന്നെയോ എന്നതായിരിക്കും മുഖ്യധാരാ ഇടതിന്റെ ഉറക്കം കെടുത്തുന്ന ചോദ്യം. കേരളം ഇന്നേവരെ കാണാത്തതരത്തിൽ അഴിമതിയിൽ മുങ്ങിയ ഒരു സർക്കാരിന്റെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഇത് ഭരണത്തിന്റെ വിലയിരുത്തലാണെന്ന് പറയുമ്പോൾ അന്തംവിട്ടുനിൽക്കാനേ സിപിഎം നയിക്കുന്ന ഇടതുപക്ഷത്തിന് കഴിയുന്നുള്ളൂ. കേവലം ഒരു ഉപതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പരാജയം എന്നതിലപ്പുറം സിപിഎമ്മിനെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം അവരുടെ നിലനിൽപ്പ്‌ തന്നെയാണ് അപകടത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നത്. ബംഗാളിൽ അടുത്തകാലത്തൊന്നും ഒരു തിരിച്ചുവരവ് സ്വപ്നംപോലും കാണാൻ കഴിയാത്ത സിപിഎമ്മിനെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം കേരളത്തിലും തിരിച്ചടിയേൽക്കുന്നതോടെ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിന്ന് തന്നെ തുടച്ചുനീക്കപ്പെടുമെന്ന സ്ഥിതിവിശേഷമാണ് സംജാതമാകുന്നത്.

ഇലക്ഷൻ പരാജയത്തിനുശേഷം സിപിഎമ്മിന്റെ വിലയിരുത്തൽ അരുവിക്കരയിൽ യു ഡി എഫ് നേടിയത് അധികാരവും പണവും മദ്യവും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നേടിയ വിജയമെന്നാണ്. ഭരണവിരുദ്ധവികാര വോട്ടുകൾ ബിജെപി ഭിന്നിപ്പിച്ചു എന്ന് പാർട്ടി സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറി കോടിയേരി ബാലകൃഷ്ണനും സർക്കാരിന്റെ ന്യൂനപക്ഷപ്രീണനംകൊണ്ട് ബിജെപി നേട്ടമുണ്ടാക്കിയെന്നും അതാണ്‌ എൽ ഡി എഫിന്റെ പരാജയത്തിന് കാരണമെന്ന് പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് അച്ചുതാനന്ദനും വിലയിരുത്തുമ്പോൾ സിപിഎം ഒരു പാഠവും പഠിക്കാൻ തയ്യാറല്ല എന്നതാണ് ഇതിൽ നിന്നെല്ലാം വ്യക്തമാകുന്നത്. കോടിയേരിയുടെ വിലയിരുത്തലിൽ പറയുന്നതുപോലെ തങ്ങൾക്ക് കിട്ടേണ്ടിയിരുന്ന വോട്ടുകളാണ് ബിജെപി നേടിയതെങ്കിൽ അത് തീർച്ചയായും സിപിഎമ്മിന് അപായ സൂചനയാണ് നൽകുന്നത്. അടുത്ത നിയമസഭ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കാലത്തും മോഡി പ്രഭാവം തുടരുമെന്നതിനാൽ ബിജെപിയുടെ വോട്ട് ശതമാനം ഉയർന്നുനിൽക്കാൻ തന്നെയാണ് സാധ്യത. ബിജെപി നേടുന്ന വോട്ടുകൾ തങ്ങളുടെ അക്കൗണ്ടിൽ നിന്നാണ് പോകുന്നതെന്ന് സിപിഎം നേതാവ് പറയുമ്പോൾ അത് ആ പാർട്ടിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ചില സംശയങ്ങൾ ഉയർത്താം. ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിയുടെ വോട്ടർമാർക്ക് അത്ര പെട്ടെന്ന് തീവ്രവലതുപക്ഷ, ഹിന്ദുത്വ പാർട്ടിയുടെ വോട്ടർമാരായി മാറുവാൻ കഴിയുമോ?ഇവിടെ സിപിഎമ്മിന്റെ മതേതര, കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പൊയ്മുഖങ്ങൾ അഴിഞ്ഞുവീഴുന്ന കാഴ്ച നാം കാണുന്നു. ഏറെക്കാലമായി സിപിഎം പുലർത്തിപോരുന്ന മൃദുഹിന്ദുത്വ നിലപാടുകൾ പരസ്യമാണ്. മലപ്പുറത്ത് എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് റിസൾട്ട് കൂടുന്നതെന്ന അച്ചുതാനന്ദന്റെ സംശയങ്ങളും കർക്കിടകമാസത്തിൽ പാർട്ടി ചടങ്ങുകളിൽ രാമായണ പാരായണം നടത്തുന്നതുമെല്ലാം ഈ മൃദു ഹിന്ദുത്വ നിലപാടിന്റെ ഭാഗം തന്നെയാണ്. ഇലക്ഷൻ റിസൾട്ട് വന്നതിനുശേഷം വി എസ് പറഞ്ഞതും സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിന്റെ ന്യൂനപക്ഷ പ്രീണനമാണ് ബിജെപിക്ക് വോട്ട് കൂടാൻ കാരണമെന്നാണ്. ഇപ്രകാരം ഹൈന്ദവവൽക്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ട പാർട്ടിയിൽ നിന്നാണ് അണികളും വോട്ടർമാരും യഥാർത്ഥ ഹിന്ദുത്വം തേടിപോകുന്നത്. ഒറിജിനൽ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ വ്യാജനെന്തിന്?

വികസനരംഗത്തേക്ക് വരുമ്പോഴും സിപിഎം ഒരു വലതുപക്ഷ പാർട്ടിയായി മാറുന്ന കാഴ്ച നാട്ടുകാർ കാണുന്നു.ഫൈനാൻസ് മൂലധനത്തിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനമാക്കി, റിയൽ എസ്റ്റെയ്റ്റ് ഹബ്ബാക്കി കേരളത്തെ മാറ്റാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന വലതുപക്ഷത്തോട് ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടി മത്സരിക്കുന്ന ദയനീയാവസ്ഥയാണ് ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തിൽ മെട്രോ റയിലും സ്മാർട്ട് സിറ്റികളുമാണ് മുന്നോട്ടുള്ള വഴിയെന്ന് വലതുപക്ഷം പറയുമ്പോൾ സിപിഎമ്മിന് മറുത്തൊന്നും പറയാനില്ല. ജനങ്ങളെ തൊഴിൽ അഭയാർഥികളാക്കിയും ഗ്രാമങ്ങളെ പാപ്പരീകരിച്ച് നഗരവല്ക്കരണം നടത്തിയും വികസനം മുന്നേറുമ്പോൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഗതാഗത പ്രശ്നത്തിന് റിയൽ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് നിക്ഷേപപദ്ധതിയായ മെട്രോ റയിൽ പരിഹാരമായി നിർദ്ദേശിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ മെട്രോ റയിൽ പദ്ധതി കൂടുതൽ വേഗത്തിലാക്കുന്നതിനും അത് കൂടുതൽ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും മനുഷ്യചങ്ങല സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് സിപിഎം. തലതിരിഞ്ഞ ഈ വികസന നയങ്ങളെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാനോ സവിശേഷമായ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് ബദലുകൾ ജനങ്ങൾക്കുമുന്പാകെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച് അതിനായി പോരാട്ട രംഗത്തിറങ്ങാനോ കെൽപ്പില്ലാത്ത പാർട്ടിയായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു ഇന്ന് സിപിഎം.

സാമൂഹ്യ മാറ്റത്തിനായി പോരാടുന്ന ഒരു യഥാർത്ഥ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിക്ക് പാർലമെന്ററി പാതയിൽ, വോട്ട് ബാങ്ക് രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിൽ, നിന്നുകൊണ്ട്  പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ എന്നതാണ് ഇവിടെ ഉയർന്നുവരുന്ന ചോദ്യം.ഇല്ല എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറയാൻ സിപിഎം തന്നെ സാഖ്യം. ജാതി നശീകരണത്തിനും യഥാർത്ഥ മതേതരത്വം സാധ്യമാക്കുവാനുമെല്ലാംതന്നെ കടുത്ത സാമൂഹ്യ സംഘർഷങ്ങളിലൂടെ സമൂഹം കടന്നുപോകേണ്ടതായിവരും. അത്തരം സംഘർഷങ്ങളിൽ ശരിയായ രീതിയിൽ ഇടപെടാൻ വോട്ട് ബാങ്കിൽ കണ്ണുനട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് കഴിയാതെവരും. വികസനകാര്യത്തിലാവട്ടെ ലോകമെമ്പാടും തീവ്ര വലതുപക്ഷത്തിന്റെ തേരോട്ടം നടക്കുമ്പോൾ ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊരു തുരുത്തിൽ വലതുപക്ഷ ചട്ടക്കൂടിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നവർക്ക് സവിശേഷമായൊരു കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് അജണ്ട മുന്നോട്ട് കൊണ്ടുപോകാൻ കഴിയാതെവരും. നിലവിലുള്ള വ്യവസ്ഥിതിയുടെ നയങ്ങൾ ഏറിവന്നാൽ ചില ഇടതുപക്ഷ പ്രതീതികൾ സൃഷ്ടിച്ച് നടപ്പാക്കലല്ലാതെ അവർക്കുമുന്നിൽ വേറെ വഴിയുണ്ടാകില്ല. അതല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ വിപ്ലവ ഇടതുപക്ഷം ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ  പോരാട്ടപാതയിലിറങ്ങുകയും  വിപ്ലവശ്രമങ്ങളിൽ ഏർപ്പെടുകയും ഇന്ത്യയെന്ന വിശാല രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സാധ്യതകളെ ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തി അതിനെ ലോകവിപ്ലവത്തിന്റെ നങ്കൂരമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക എന്നതാണ്  ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിക്ക് ചെയ്യാവുന്നത്.

ശാസ്ത്രമുന്നേറ്റങ്ങളുടെയും മറ്റും ഫലമായി ഒരു വശത്ത് നിരവധി രോഗങ്ങൾ നിർമാർജനം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുകയും ആയുർദൈർഘ്യം വർദ്ധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ജീവിതശൈലീ രോഗങ്ങൾ ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ള രോഗങ്ങൾ പൊതുവെ പെരുകിവരികയാണ് എന്നത് ഒരു വസ്തുതയാണ്. മുൻകാലങ്ങളിൽ വസൂരിയും മറ്റും പടർന്നുപിടിക്കുന്നതിനുസമാനമെന്നു തന്നെ പറയാം ഇന്ന് ക്യാൻസറിന്റെയും മറ്റും വ്യാപനം. ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽക്കൂടിയാണ് ഇന്ത്യയിലും പുറത്തും യോഗാഭ്യാസ മുറകൾ വൻതോതിൽ സ്വീകാര്യത നേടിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. യോഗയുടെ ഈ  വർദ്ധിച്ച സ്വീകാര്യതയുടെ ചുവടുപിടിച്ചാണ് ജൂണ്‍ 21 അന്തർദേശീയ യോഗ ദിനമായി ആചരിക്കാൻ ഇന്ത്യ പ്രേരണ ചെലുത്തുന്നതും അത് അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതും. എല്ലാ ദിനവും എതെങ്കിലുമൊക്കെ പ്രത്യേക ദിനമായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഇക്കാലത്ത്  ഇന്ത്യൻ എംബസികളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ചടങ്ങുകൾ ഒഴിച്ചുനിർത്തിയാൽ വിദേശങ്ങളിൽ പറയത്തക്ക ചലനമൊന്നും യോഗദിനം ഉളവാക്കാനിടയില്ല. ഏറിവന്നാൽ യോഗ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സെന്ററുകളിലും എന്തെങ്കിലുമൊക്കെ പരിപാടികൾ നടന്നേക്കും. അതെന്തായാലും ഒന്നും അത്രമേൽ നിഷ്കളങ്കമല്ലാത്ത ഇന്ത്യയിൽ സ്ഥിതി അതല്ല. ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭരണകൂടം വൻതോതിൽ പണം മുടക്കി പ്രചാരവേലകൾ നടത്തി സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന യോഗ ദിനാചരണത്തിന് അപായകരമായ മാനങ്ങളാണ് ഉള്ളത്. സ്വന്തം സംസ്കാരമഹിമയിൽ അമിതമായി ഊറ്റം കൊള്ളൽ തീവ്ര വലത് ഫാസിസത്തിന്റെ മുൻ അവതാരങ്ങളുടെ മുഖമുദ്രയായിരുന്നു.  ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഇന്ന് പിടിമുറുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന സവർണ ഹൈന്ദവ ഫാസിസവും അതിൽ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമല്ല.  കെങ്കേമമായി കൊണ്ടാടുന്ന യോഗ ദിനാചരണത്തിന്റെ അപായകരമായ മാനങ്ങൾ തിരിച്ചറിയാൻപോലും കഴിയുന്നില്ലെന്നതാണ്, പക്ഷെ, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഫാസിസ്റ്റ് വിരുദ്ധ ശക്തികൾ എന്നവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന  ഇടതുപക്ഷത്തിന്റെയും ജനാധിപത്യവാദികലുടെയും നില പരിതാപകരമാക്കുന്നത്.

സിന്ധൂ നദീതട സംസ്കാരത്തിൽ നിന്നും വികസിച്ചത് എന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്ന യോഗാഭ്യാസ മുറകൾ തീർച്ചയായും വ്യായാമമുറകൾ എന്ന നിലയിൽ ലോകമെമ്പാടും സ്വീകാര്യത നേടുന്നുണ്ട്. യോഗ ആവിഷ്കരിച്ച ആചാര്യന്മാർ മനുഷ്യശരീരത്തിന്റെ അനാട്ടമിവരെ മനസിലാക്കിയിരുന്നവരാകാം എന്നുംമറ്റും ഇന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നുമുണ്ട്. ആധുനിക ശാസ്ത്രവും യോഗാഭ്യാസ മുറകൾ ശാരീരികവും മാനസികവുമായ ആരോഗ്യത്തിന് ഉത്തമമാണ് എന്ന് അഭിപ്രായപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. ആ നിലയ്ക്ക് യോഗ അഭ്യസിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലത് തന്നെ. ഇന്നത്തെ വിപണിക്കൊത്ത ചരക്കായി രൂപാന്തരം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നതിൽ വിജയിച്ചിട്ടുന്ടെങ്കിലും യോഗ എന്നത് കേവലം വ്യായാമമുറകൾ മാത്രമല്ല എന്നിടത്താണ് പക്ഷെ, യോഗ ദിനാചരണത്തിന്റെ നിഷ്കളങ്കത നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നത്. സിന്ധൂ നദീതട സംസ്കാരത്തിൽ വികസിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട യോഗ അടിസ്ഥാനപരമായി ഭാരതീയ തത്വചിന്തകളിൽ പ്രമുഖമായ ആറെണ്ണത്തിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. ഭൗതികവാദാടിത്തറയുള്ള സാംഖ്യയോട് അടുത്തുനിൽക്കുന്നതെങ്കിലും യോഗ അടിസ്ഥാനപരമായി ആശയവാദം തന്നെയാണ്. ജീവാത്മാവിനെ (individual consciousness)  പരമാത്മാവിൽ (universal consciousness)  ലയിപ്പിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് യോഗയുടെ പരമമായ ലക്‌ഷ്യം തന്നെ. ജൈന, ബുദ്ധ മതങ്ങളിലേക്ക് സ്വീകരിക്കപെടുകയും തന്ത്രയായി രൂപാന്തരം പ്രാപിക്കുമ്പോഴുമെല്ലാം യോഗയുടെ ലക്‌ഷ്യം നിർവാണവും മോക്ഷവുമൊക്കെ തന്നെയായി തുടരുന്നു. ഹിന്ദു ദൈവമായ ശിവനാണ് ആദ്യത്തെ യോഗ ഗുരു എന്ന് പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിലും യോഗയ്ക്ക് സെക്കുലർ പരിവേഷം നേടാനാകുന്നത് അത് പരമാത്മാവിലേക്ക് അതല്ലെങ്കിൽ ദൈവത്തിലേക്കുള്ള ഒരു പാതയാണ് എന്നതുകൊണ്ടുകൂടിയാണ്. സൂര്യനമസ്കാരത്തെ ഈശോനമസ്ക്കാരമായും ഓംകാര മന്ത്രത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ മതത്തിലെ പ്രാർഥനകൾ കൊണ്ട് പകരംവെച്ചും ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ, മുസ്ലീം സമുദായങ്ങളും ഇന്ന് യോഗ പരിശീലനം നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്.  യോഗ ദിനത്തോട് അപൂർവ്വം ചില ന്യൂനപക്ഷ സംഘടനകളുടേത്   ഒഴിച്ചാൽ കാര്യമായ എതിർപ്പില്ലെന്ന് മാത്രമല്ല കൂടുതൽ ന്യൂനപക്ഷ സംഘടനകളും അനുകൂലിച്ച് രംഗത്ത് വരികയാണ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. വെല്ലുവിളിയായി വരുന്ന ഏതിനെയും സ്വാംശീകരിച്ച് ഇല്ലാതാക്കുന്ന ഹിന്ദുമതത്തിന്റെ സാമർത്ഥ്യമാണ് അപ്പോൾ നമ്മൾ കാണുന്നത്. ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയായാലും മുസ്ലീമായാലും ഭാരതീയരെല്ലാം ഹിന്ദുക്കളാണെന്ന സംഘപരിവാറിന്റെ യുക്തി ഇവിടെ പ്രവർത്തന ക്ഷമമാകുന്നു.

യോഗ വ്യായാമമുറകൾ എന്ന നിലയിലോ ആത്മീയ പ്രയോഗമെന്ന നിലയിലോ സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ വ്യക്തികൾക്ക് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യമുണ്ട്. യോഗയുടെ തത്വചിന്തയെ പിൻപറ്റാൻ തൽപരരായവർക്ക് അതുമാവാം. പക്ഷെ, പ്രശ്നമിതാണ്; യോഗ പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടത് ഭരണകൂടമാണോ? വ്യത്യസ്ത ജനവിഭാഗങ്ങളും ചിന്താധാരകളും നിലവിലുള്ള ഒരു രാജ്യത്ത് ഭരണകൂടത്തിന്റെ ദർശനം പൗരർക്കുമേൽ അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ഫാസിസമല്ലാതെ മറ്റെന്താണ്? ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഔദ്യോഗിക മതം ഹിന്ദുമതമാക്കുന്ന ഈ ഒളിച്ചുകടത്തൽ എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് തിരിച്ചറിയപ്പെടാതെ പോകുന്നത്.  യോഗദിനാചരണത്തിന്റെ സർക്കാർ വെബ്സൈറ്റിൽ തന്നെ ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട നിലപാട് വ്യക്തമാണ്. കേവലം വ്യായാമ മുറ എന്ന രീതിയിലല്ല, സമഗ്രമായ ഒരു ആത്മീയജീവിത ദർശനമായി തന്നെയാണ് യോഗയെ ഇതിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

ഇനി, കേവലം വ്യായാമമുറ എന്ന നിലയിൽ മാത്രമാണ്  യോഗ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതെങ്കിൽപോലും ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ ആരോഗ്യത്തിനും മനസുഖത്തിനും നിലവിൽ യോഗയുടെ അഭാവമാണോ കാരണം എന്ന ചോദ്യമുയരുന്നു. ഇന്നും ലോകത്ത് പട്ടിണിയും പോഷകാഹാരക്കുറവുംകൊണ്ട് മനുഷ്യർ മരിച്ചുവീഴുന്നതിന്റെ കാരണം യോഗ പഠിക്കാത്തതാണോ? ദുരമൂത്ത മുതലാളിത്ത ചൂഷണം നമ്മുടെ വായുവിനെയും ജലത്തെയും മലിനീകരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, നമ്മുടെ വനങ്ങൾ വെട്ടി നശിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിനുകൂട്ടുനിൽക്കുന്നവർ പൗരരുടെ ആരോഗ്യത്തിൽ കരുതലുള്ളവരാണ് എന്നുപറയുമ്പോൾ അതെങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസനീയമാകും. നാനാവിധ ചൂഷണങ്ങളിൽ ജനങ്ങൾ നട്ടംതിരിയുമ്പോൾ, ഒരു ചെറുവിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ ചൂഷണം നിമിത്തം ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തിനും നിലനിൽക്കാൻ തന്നെ കഷ്ടപ്പെടേണ്ടിവരുമ്പോൾ ജീവിതശൈലീരോഗങ്ങൾ ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ളവ അവരെ എങ്ങനെ പിടികൂടാതിരിക്കും? ജാതി, ലിംഗ വിവേചനങ്ങളും ദേശീയ അടിച്ച്ചമർത്തലുകളും അതേപടി നിലനിർത്തി യോഗയിലൂടെ മാനസിക സ്വാസ്ഥ്യം കൈവരുത്താം എന്ന് പറയുന്നവർക്ക് എന്ത് ആത്മാർഥതയാണുള്ളത്.

യോഗയുടെ തുടക്കം എങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നാലും ഇന്ത്യപോലെ അന്തരീക്ഷവായുവിൽവരെ ജാതി നിലനിന്നിരുന്ന , ഇന്നും നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന നാട്ടിൽ യോഗ ദര്ശനവും തീർച്ചയായും മേൽജാതികളുടെ ദർശനമായിതന്നെയാണ് നിലകൊണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളത്. അല്ലെങ്കിൽത്തന്നെ അധ്വാനഭാരം മുഴുവൻ ചുമക്കേണ്ടിവന്നവർക്ക് മേൽജാതികളെപ്പോലെ തൊഴിലെടുക്കാതെ ചൂഷണം മാത്രം കലയാക്കിയവരെപ്പോലെ യോഗാഭ്യാസം നടത്തി മോക്ഷപ്രാപ്തി നേടൽ എളുപ്പമായിരുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

ഇപ്രകാരം യോഗ എന്നത് നിഷ്കളങ്കമായ ഒരു വ്യായാമമുറ എന്നതിനുമപ്പുറമാകുമ്പോൾ യോഗദിനത്തിനും നിരവധിയായ വിവക്ഷകൾ കൈവരുന്നു. ഇത് തിരിച്ചറിയുകയും ഒളിച്ചുകടത്തപ്പെടുന്നതിനെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കുകയും വേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. നിർഭാഗ്യവശാൽ യുക്തിവാദികൾ മുതൽ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റുകളും സ്വത്വവാദികളും വരെ ഇതിനെ ഗൗരവമായി കാണുന്നില്ല എന്നത് ആശങ്കാജനകമാണ്.

കുട്ടിക്കുരങ്ങിനെക്കൊണ്ട് ചുടുചോറ് വാരിക്കുക എന്നത് സിപിഎമ്മിന്റെയും അതിന്റെ വർഗ-ബഹുജന സംഘടനകളുടെയും  എക്കാലത്തെയും പ്രിയ വിനോദം തന്നെയാണ്. സിപീമ്മിന്റെ വിദ്യാർഥി സംഘടനയായ എസ് എഫ് ഐ യും ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ ഒട്ടും മോശമല്ലാത്ത ട്രാക്ക് റെക്കോർഡ് സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവരാണ്. അഡ്ജസ്റ്മെന്റ്റ് സമരങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രതിപക്ഷത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ നടത്തുന്ന ഇരട്ടത്താപ്പ് സമരങ്ങൾക്കും എസ് എഫ് ഐയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ഒട്ടും പഞ്ഞമില്ല. പ്രതിപക്ഷത്തിരിക്കെ സമരം നടത്തി രക്തസാക്ഷികളെവരെ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുകയും ഭരണം കിട്ടുമ്പോൾ മുടന്തൻ ന്യായങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞ് അതേ നയങ്ങൽതന്നെ നടപ്പാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക എന്നതിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ദ്രിഷ്ടാന്തമായിരുന്നു സ്വാശ്രയ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസപ്രശ്നത്തിൽ മലയാളികൾ കണ്ടത്. എസ് എഫ് ഐ യുടെ അത്തരം നെറികെട്ട സമരാഭാസ പരമ്പരയിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഒടുവിലത്തേതാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ  എറണാകുളത്തെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ മഹാരാജാസ് കോളേജിൽ അരങ്ങേറുന്നത്. ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ രംഗത്ത് സ്വയംഭരണം നടപ്പാക്കാനുള്ള സർക്കാർ നയത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി മഹാരാജാസ് കോളേജിന് സ്വയംഭരണം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതിനെതിരായി എസ് എഫ് ഐ സമരം നടത്തുമ്പോൾ ചരിത്രത്തിലുള്ള അറിവും ഓർമയും വിദ്യാർഥികൾക്ക് കുറവായിരിക്കും എന്നതാകാം എസ് എഫ് ഐക്ക് ധൈര്യം നൽകുന്നത്. എന്നിരിക്കിലും ചരിത്രം ഓർമിക്കുന്നവരുടെ വിചാരണയ്ക്ക് എസ എഫ് ഐ വിധേയരാകേണ്ടി വരികതന്നെ ചെയ്യും.

ഫൈനാൻസ് മൂലധനത്തിന്റെ വ്യാപനത്തെ സുഗമമാക്കുന്നതുൽപ്പടെയുള്ള ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളോടെ ലോകവ്യാപാര സംഘടന 1996-ൽ ഒപ്പിട്ട ജനറൽ എഗ്രിമെന്റ് ഓഫ് ട്രെയ്ഡ് ഇൻ സെർവീസസ് (GATS) വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ഉൾപ്പടെ 19 സേവന മേഖലകളെ കരാറിന്റെ പരിധിയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന്റെ ചുവടുപിടിച്ചാണ് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഉന്നതവിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖലയിൽ സർക്കാർ നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ എടുത്തുകളയുവാനും മൂലധന ശക്തികൾക്ക് ആ മേഖലയിൽ വൻ തോതിൽ മുതൽമുടക്കുവാനുമുള്ള നീക്കങ്ങൾക്ക് വേഗത കൂടുന്നത്. സിപിഎം പിന്തുണയോടെ ഭരിച്ച ഒന്നാം യു പി എ സർക്കാർ ഈ ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ നിയോഗിച്ച സെൻട്രൽ അഡ്വൈസറി ബോര്ഡ് ഓഫ് എഡ്യൂക്കേഷൻ (കെയ്ബ്) കമ്മിറ്റി ഓണ്‍ ഓട്ടോണമി ഓഫ്  ഹൈയർ എഡ്യൂക്കേഷൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂഷൻസ് എന്ന കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ ചെയർമാൻ മറ്റാരുമായിരുന്നില്ല, അത് സിപിഎമ്മിന്റെ ബംഗാൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രിയായിരുന്ന കാന്തി ബിശ്വാസ് തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. 2005 ജൂണ്‍ മാസം കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി അർജുൻ സിങ്ങിന് സമർപ്പിച്ച റിപ്പോർട്ടിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖല മൂലധന സൗഹാർദ്ധമാക്കാനുള്ള പരിഷ്ക്കാരങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്.

ഇപ്പോൾ സ്വയംഭരണത്തെ എതിർക്കുന്ന എസ് എഫ് ഐ തങ്ങളുടെ നേതാവ്തന്നെ ചെയർമാനായി തയ്യാറാക്കിയ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും ഒന്ന് വായിച്ചുനോക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. വികസനമന്ത്രങ്ങൾ കുത്തിനിറച്ച റിപ്പോർട്ട് വളരെ വ്യക്തമായി പറയുന്നു, "അനാവശ്യ നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തെ മോചിപ്പിക്കണം, എങ്കിലേ വികസനം സാധ്യമാകൂ". സമരം ചെയ്യുന്ന എസ് എഫ് ഐ പറയുന്നത് സ്വയംഭരണം നടപ്പിലായാൽ സർക്കാരിന്റെയും യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയുടെയും നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ കുറയുമെന്നാണ്. പക്ഷെ കാന്തി ബിശ്വാസിന്റെ റിപ്പോർട്ട് അർത്ഥശങ്കയ്ക്കിടയില്ലാത്തവിധം പറയുന്നു, "ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമേഖലയിൽ ഭരണകൂടത്തിന്റെ അനാവശ്യ നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ ഒഴിവാക്കണം."


സ്വയംഭരണം നടപ്പാകുമ്പോൾ ഫീസ്‌ കുത്തനെ കൂടുമെന്നും പണമില്ലാത്തവരെ തള്ളി പണമുള്ളവർ മാത്രം പഠിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥാപനമായി മഹാരാജാസ് മാറുമെന്ന് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്ന എസ് എഫ് ഐ , "വിവിധ കോഴ്സുകൾക്ക് സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരുമായി ആലോചിച്ച് ഫീസ്‌ നിശ്ചയിക്കാനുള്ള സ്വയംഭരണം ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്കുണ്ടാവണം" എന്ന് സ്വന്തം നേതാവ് തന്നെ ശുപാർശ തയ്യാറാക്കുമ്പോൾ എവിടെയായിരുന്നു എന്ന ചോദ്യമുയരുന്നു. കോളജിന് സർക്കാർ ധന സഹായം കുറയുമെന്ന് ഇപ്പോൾ എസ് എഫ് ഐ  സങ്കടപ്പെടുന്നതായി നടിക്കുമ്പോൾ കാന്തി ബിശ്വാസിന്റെ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ശുപാർശ ചെയ്തത് "ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തമായി ആഭ്യന്തര വിഭവങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തണമെന്നാണ്. അതായത് ഫീസ്‌ നിരക്കുകൾ കുത്തനെ കൂട്ടണമെന്ന്!


സ്വയംഭരണം നടപ്പിലാകുന്നതോടെ നിലവിലുള്ള പല കോഴ്സുകളും നിർത്തലാക്കുകയും പകരം സ്വാശ്രയ കോഴ്സുകൾ വ്യാപകമായി ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് പറയുന്ന എസ് എഫ് ഐ പക്ഷെ കാന്തി ബിശ്വാസിന്റെ റിപ്പോർട്ടിലെ ഈ വരികൾ കൂടി വായിക്കണം.  "എല്ലാ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റികൾക്കും കോളജുകൾക്കും സ്വാശ്രയ കോഴ്സുകൾ, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് പുതിയതും തൊഴിൽ സാധ്യത കൂടുതലുള്ളതുമായ മേഖലകളിൽ , ആരംഭിക്കാനുള്ള സ്വയംഭരണം ആവശ്യമാണെന്ന്" റിപ്പോർട്ട് ശുപാർശ ചെയ്യുന്നു. സ്വാശ്രയ കോഴ്സുകൾ ആവശ്യമാണെന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് കാന്തി ബിശ്വാസിന്റെ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ആവർത്തിച്ചു പറയുന്നത്. സ്വയംഭരണം നൽകി കോളജിനെ സ്വകാര്യവൽക്കരിക്കാനുള്ള നീക്കം അവസാനിപ്പിക്കണമെന്ന് വാദിക്കുന്ന എസ് എഫ് ഐ "കൻസൽട്ടൻസി അസൈൻമെന്റുകളും സ്പോണ്‍സേർഡ് റിസർച്ച് പദ്ധതികളും ഏറ്റെടുക്കാൻ തക്ക സ്വയംഭരണം ഉന്നതവിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്ക് നൽകണമെന്ന" ശുപാർശയെ എങ്ങനെയാണ് മനസിലാക്കിയിട്ടുള്ളത്?

ഫൈനാൻസ് മൂലധനത്തിന് വിഹാരിക്കാനുള്ള ഇടമായി , വിപണിയെ സേവിക്കാനുള്ള പൗരന്മാരെ വാർത്തെടുക്കാനുള്ള കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളായി വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളെ കാണുന്ന സാമ്രാജ്യത്വ യുക്തികളെ പിൻപറ്റുന്ന കാന്തി ബിശ്വാസ് കമ്മിറ്റി റിപ്പോർട്ടിനെപ്പറ്റി ഒരക്ഷരം ഉരിയാടാതിരിക്കുന്ന എസ് എഫ് ഐ ഇപ്പോൾ വെളിപാടുണ്ടായതുപോലെ സമര രംഗത്തേക്കിറങ്ങുമ്പോൾ പക്ഷെ താളത്തിനൊത്ത് തുള്ളുവാൻ വിദ്യാർഥികൾ തയ്യാറാകേണ്ടതുണ്ടോ എന്നതാണ് ചോദ്യം. തീർച്ചയായും സ്വയംഭരണം നൽകി ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖലയെ സ്വകാര്യവൽക്കരിക്കാനുള്ള നീക്കം ഏതുവിധേനയും ചെറുക്കപ്പെടെന്ടതാണ്.   പക്ഷെ എക്കാലവും വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെ വഞ്ചിച്ച ചരിത്രമുള്ള എസ് എഫ് ഐ ഇപ്പോൾ നടത്തുന്ന സമരാഭാസം വെറും രാഷ്ട്രീയ മുതലെടുപ്പ് മാത്രം ലക്ഷ്യംവെച്ച്ചുള്ളതാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയാനുള്ള പ്രബുദ്ധത ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തിലെ വിദ്യാർഥി സമൂഹം ആർജിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആ തിരിച്ചറിവ് നഷ്ടപ്പെടാതെ സമരം ചെയ്യുവാനാണ് വിദ്യാർഥിസമൂഹം തയ്യാറാകേണ്ടത്.

ഇതിനകം തന്നെ ഏറെ രാഷ്ടീയ മാനങ്ങള്‍ ആർജിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന നവമ്പർ 2 ന്റെ ചുംബനോത്സവവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് അവസാനം കേരളത്തിലെ മുഖ്യധാരാ ഇടത് വിപ്ലവ യുവജന സംഘടന അതിന്റെ നിലപാട് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. എവിടെയും തൊടാതെയും മുക്കിയുംമൂളിയുമാണ് അവർ നിലപാട് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്.  അതിൽ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമായി ഇതിന്റെ രാഷ്ടീയ മാനങ്ങൾ, എന്തുകൊണ്ട് പുരോഗമന ജനാധിപത്യ ശക്തികൾ ഇതിനെ പിന്തുണക്കണം എന്ന് വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു പ്രമുഖ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ പ്രവർത്തകനായ തുഷാർ നിർമൽ.

കോഴിക്കോട് റസ്റ്റോരന്റ് അടിച്ചു തകർത്ത യുവമോർച്ചയുടെ നടപടിയോട് ചെറുപ്പക്കാരുടെ പൊടുന്നനെയുള്ള  പ്രതിഷേധമായിട്ടാണ് "കിസ്സ്‌ ഓഫ് ലവ് " പരിപാടി സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നു  .
യുവമോർച്ച അടക്കമുള്ള സംഘ പരിവാർ സംഘടനകളുടെ സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസത്തിനെതിരായ പ്രതിഷേധമെന്ന നിലയിൽ "കിസ്സ്‌ ഓഫ് ലവ് "  പരിപാടിക്ക് രാഷ്ട്രീയമായി എന്ത് പോരായ്മകളുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഇന്നത്‌ സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസത്തിൻറെ ഇടുങ്ങിയ സദാചാര ബോധത്തിനെതിരായ തുറന്ന വെല്ലുവിളിയായി മാറിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് . പരിപാടി തടയുമെന്ന് പരസ്യമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് സംഘപരിവാർ സംഘടനകൾ രംഗത്ത് വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട് . ടി . വി ചാനലിൽ ഇന്റർവ്യൂ നൽകാനെത്തിയ സംഘാടകരെ തടഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് കൊണ്ഗ്രസ്സുകാരും പരിപാടി നിരോധിക്കണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ട് കെ . എസ് . യു .വും പരിപാടിയ്ക്ക് അനുമതി നല്കില്ലെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു കേരള പോലീസും.  ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ പുരോഗമന ജനാധിപത്യ ശക്തികൾ ഈ പരിപാടിയെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കേണ്ടതാണെന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ കരുതുന്നു .
മേൽകീഴ് തട്ടുകളായി വർത്തിക്കുന്ന അസമത്വത്തിന്റെയും മർദ്ദനത്തിന്റെയും ആശയമായ ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യ വാദം നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹത്തിലെ അധീശ പ്രത്യയ ശാസ്ത്രത്തിൻറെ ഉൾക്കാമ്പാണ് . അത് ശരീരത്തെ അധമമായി കാണുന്നു . കായികാധ്വാനത്തെ മ്ലേച്ചമായി കാണുന്നു . സ്ത്രീയെ കേവലം ലൈംഗിക ഉപകരണമായും പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെയും കുടുംബ- കുല -വംശ മഹിമയുടെ വാഹകരായും മാത്രം കാണുന്നു . ഇത് മനുഷ്യരെ മേൽക്കീഴു തട്ടുകളായി തിരിക്കുകയും ദളിതർക്ക്മേൽ ദുസ്സഹവും മനുഷ്യത്വ രഹിതവുമായ സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു . വംശീയ വെറിയും ആദിവാസികളോട് വെറുപ്പും മത ന്യൂന പക്ഷങ്ങൾക്ക്‌ നേരെ പ്രത്യേകിച്ചു മുസ്ലീംകൾക്ക് നേരെ വർഗീയ ശത്രുതയും ഉൽപ്പാദിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഉത്തേജിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു . (അക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് മുസ്ലീം ചെറുപ്പക്കാരുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള റസ്റ്റോരന്റ് ആണെന്നത് യാദൃശ്ചികമല്ല ). നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലെ സവിശേഷ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ഇവിടത്തെ പിന്തിരിപ്പനായ എല്ലാത്തിന്റെയും അകക്കാമ്പാണ് ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യ ലോക വീക്ഷണവും മൂല്യ ബോധവും .നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ ജനാധിപത്യ വല്ക്കരണത്തിനും വികാസത്തിനും പുരോഗതിക്കും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ തടസ്സമായി നമ്മെ വരിഞ്ഞു മുറുക്കി ശ്വാസം മുട്ടിക്കുന്ന ചങ്ങല യുവ മോർച്ച ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ള സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ പ്രത്യയശാസ്ത്രം ഈ ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യമാണ് . അവർ പിന്തുടരുന്ന മൂല്യ ബോധത്തെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള ചെറിയ ശ്രമങ്ങൾ പോലും സഹിഷ്ണുതയോടെ കാണാനുള്ള ജനാധിപത്യ ബോധം പോലും അതിനില്ല . അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ തീർത്തും ജനാധിപത്യ വിരുദ്ധമായി ഈ പരിപാടി തടയുമെന്ന് അവർ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞു .
കോണ്ഗ്രസ് ഉൾപ്പടെ നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലെ എല്ലാ  ഭരണവർഗ്ഗ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാർട്ടികളും പങ്കുവെക്കുന്ന മൂല്യബോധം ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യത്തിന്റെതാണ്.അത് കൊണ്ട് 'സ്നേഹചുംബനം' പരിപാടി  സദാചാരവിരുദ്ധമാണെന്ന് പരസ്യമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കാൻ അവർക്ക് ഒട്ടും സമയം വേണ്ടി വന്നില്ല.നമ്മുടെ പൈതൃകവും സാംസ്ക്കാരിക മൂല്യങ്ങളും സംരക്ഷിക്കണമെന്ന് കെ.എസ്.യു ആവശ്യപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ സദാചാരമൂല്യങ്ങൾ സംരക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടത് പൗരധർമ്മമാണെന്നു ബി.ജെ.പി ഓർമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.ഭാഷകളിൽ പോലും അവർക്ക് എന്തൊരു ഐക്യം

അപ്പോൾ ഭരണകൂടമോ? നമ്മുടെ  പോലീസോ?



ജീവനും സ്വത്തും സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങൾ തടയാൻ വേണ്ടിയാണ് പോലിസ് എന്നാണു പൊതുവിൽ പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ ചൂഷകവർഗ്ഗങ്ങളുടെ ലോകവീക്ഷണത്തിനും മൂല്യബോധത്തിനുമനുസരിച്ച് ജനങ്ങളെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്ന സംവിധാനം കൂടിയാണ് പോലിസ്. കേരള പോലീസും ഇതിനു അപവാദമല്ല. ഭരണവർഗ്ഗങ്ങളുടെ മൂല്യബോധത്തിന്റെയും ലോകവീക്ഷണത്തിന്റെയും അകക്കാമ്പ് ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യമാകുമ്പോൾ പോലിസ് ആ മൂല്യബോധത്തിന്റെ സംരക്ഷകരും നടത്തിപ്പുകാരുമാകുന്നു.

നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ ഏറ്റവുമധികം രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങൾ ഏതൊക്കെയാണ് ? കളവോ പിടിച്ചുപറിയൊ അല്ല...അക്രമവും കൊലപാതകവുമല്ല...മറിച്ചു പൊതുക്രമത്തിനെതിരായ കുറ്റങ്ങൾ ആണ്.
പൊതുഇടങ്ങളിൽ ശല്യമുണ്ടാക്കൽ,പുകവലി,മദ്യപാനം,അശ്ലീല പ്രദർശനം...എന്താണ് പൊതുസ്ഥലത്ത് അശ്ലീല പ്രദർശനം,ശല്യമുണ്ടാക്കൽ ഇതൊക്കെ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ മാനദണ്ഡം എന്താണ്...അത് അധീശ പ്രത്യയശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ മൂല്യബോധമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല.ഫലത്തിൽ പൊതുക്രമം പാലിക്കുക എന്നാൽ ദരിദ്രരുടെ, മർദ്ദിത സാമൂഹ്യ വിഭാഗങ്ങളുടെ  പൊതുഇടങ്ങളിലെ സ്വഭാവവും പെരുമാറ്റവും നിയന്ത്രിക്കുക എന്നതാണ്.ഇങ്ങനെ അധീശ പ്രത്യയശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ മൂല്യങ്ങളെ വിപുലമായ ജനവിഭാഗങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിക്കുക എന്ന പണിയാണ് പോലിസ് ചെയ്തുവരുന്നത്. 'ലൗ ജിഹാദ്' എന്ന കെട്ടുകഥ ഉണ്ടാക്കി  മുസ്ലിം വിരുദ്ധത പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൽ പോലിസിനുള്ള പങ്ക് ഓർക്കുക. രാത്രി ബൈക്കിൽ സുഹൃത്തിനൊപ്പം   യാത്ര ചെയ്ത നടിയെ പോലിസ് സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ തടഞ്ഞു വച്ച് ആക്ഷേപിച്ച സംഭവം ഓർക്കുക.
അതെ ഭരണകൂടം ആ പഴഞ്ചൻ സദാചാര സംഹിതയുടെ സംരക്ഷകരാണ് അവരിൽ നിന്ന് നമുക്ക് മറ്റൊന്നും പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാനില്ല.
നവംബർ 2 നു പോലിസ് ഈ പരിപാടിയെ സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ നിന്ന് സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ പോകുന്നില്ല.പകരം അവർ മറ്റൊന്ന് ചെയ്യും.പരിപാടിക്കെത്തുന്നവരെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു നീക്കും.ബദായുൻ സംഭവത്തിൽ സ്ത്രീക്കൂട്ടയ്മ നടത്തിയ പ്രതിഷേധത്തിൽ നമ്മൾ അത് കണ്ടതാണ്.തൃശൂർ റീജിയണൽ തിയേറ്ററിൽ  കാശ്മീരി ഹൃസ്വ ചിത്രത്തിനെതിരെ നടന്ന സംഘ പരിവാർ പ്രതിഷേധത്തിൽ നമ്മൾ അത്                              കണ്ടതാണ്.
ഇതിനിടയിൽ മറ്റൊരു കൂട്ടരുണ്ട്.എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രതിഷേധിക്കാൻ അവകാശമുണ്ടെന്നും എന്നാൽ പരിപാടിയെ പോലിസ് നിയന്ത്രിക്കണമെന്നും  പറയുന്ന ഇടതു യുവജന സംഘടന എന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന ഡി .വൈ.എഫ്.ഐ.ചില നേതാക്കൾ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട പിന്തുണകളുമായി രംഗത്ത് വരുന്നുണ്ടെന്നത് ശരി തന്നെ.പക്ഷെ സംഘടനാപരമായ തീരുമാനം ഒന്നുമില്ല എന്നത് വ്യവസ്ഥാപിത ഇടതുപക്ഷം അകപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള വിഷമസന്ധിയുടെ, ആശയപാപ്പരത്തത്തെ തുറന്നുകാണിക്കുന്നു.അതെ അവരും ഏറിയും കുറഞ്ഞും അതെ പഴഞ്ചൻ മൂല്യബോധത്തെ പേറുന്നു.ചെങ്ങറ സമരത്തിനു പിന്തുണ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു നടത്തിയ രാത്രിസമരത്തോട് അവർ സ്വീകരിച്ചനിലപാടിൽ, ചാണക വെള്ളം തളിച്ച് അടിച്ചുവാരി ശുദ്ധി വരുത്തിയ നടപടിയിൽ നാം അത് കണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞതാണ്.
പൊടുന്നനെയുള്ള പ്രതികരണമെന്ന നിലയിൽ ആരംഭിച്ചതെങ്കിലും 'കിസ്സ്‌ ഓഫ് ലവ്' നു ഒരു പക്ഷെ അതിന്റെ സംഘാടകർപോലും കാണാത്ത രാഷ്ട്രീയമാനം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്.സവർണ്ണ ഫാസിസത്തെ അതിന്റെ അടിത്തറയായ ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യമൂല്യബോധത്തെ അത് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുകയും ചൊടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. എത്ര ദുർബലമെങ്കിലും ന്യു ജനറേഷൻ കാലത്തെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സാമൂഹ്യ ഇടപെടൽ എന്ന നിലയിൽ അത് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

Fight back the anti-working class amendments to Labour Laws by the NDA government!

The Modi led NDA government has once again bared its anti-working class stance with the recent amendments to the labor laws. In the first week of September, 2014 it brought amendments to The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947; The Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970; The Factories Act, 1948; The Apprentices Act, 1961, and Trade Unions Act. Narendra Singh Tomar, the Central labor minister announced these without batting an eyelid as if he is a minister responsible for the welfare of the factory owners and not the laborers. These amendments were done with the single purpose of super-exploitation of the workers, to increase the super profits of the imperialist and Indian corporations that are pouncing like vultures for the blood and flesh of our working people. These amendments now make existing rights for overtime extra wages redundant and would allow the factory owners to make the workers work for 12 hours instead of the eight- hour workday. They make night shifts for women legal. They now allow those factory owners employing up to 300 workers to retrench workers or shut down the factory without going through any procedures, according to their will. The Industrial Disputes Act would now favor the factory owners more in all labor related disputes. Now the Contract Labour Act would apply to firms employing more than 50 persons instead of 20 which means that units employing less than 50 contract workers would not get even the meagre protective provisions in the Act. Till now the principal employer was responsible for any violation of the law in case of contract workers though they are employed through a contractor. The amendments are letting off the hook now. Now workers would be able to form a trade union only if they have 30% of the workers with them whereas previously seven workers could move an application for registering a union and could form one even if 15% of them came together. This is being done in the name of reducing the burden of dealing with multiple unions but it is nothing but a blatant attempt to prevent the workers from organising for their rights and allowing the capitalists to exploit, oppress and suppress them as they please. What kind of a democracy is this if the workers cannot even properly exercise their right to form a union? Given the fact that revisionist, bourgeois trade unions that are mostly hand in glove with the managements and work against the interests of the workers, have entrenched themselves dominantly among the working class, it would now become extremely difficult for the working class to free themselves from their shackles and form their own independent unions. To be precise, these amendments have with a stroke of pen turned several illegalities regarding working conditions in factories legal, making a mockery of all the hard won rights of the workers of centuries old struggles, which are in a sense also a legacy to the struggles dating back to the slave rebellions against complete exploitation of human labor. The eight- hour workday, not making women work in night shifts and regulation of overtime and compensation for overtime work were all won through decades of class struggle between the capitalists and the workers. The above amendments would seriously affect the physical and mental health of the workers, would lead to industrial accidents and have serious social impact too. In a context where women working in BPOs are being targeted for sexual attacks when they commute to their work places at night and several researches have established that the health of women is seriously and irreparably affected due to night shifts, this kind of legality to making women work in the night shifts would not only affect their physical and mental health, create gynecological problems but also put them at much risk at the workplace and on their way to work. On the whole this kind of work pressure would lead to workers ageing early and the capitalists would then mercilessly throw them out and employ new workers who would go through the same cycle of exploitation and get thrown out eventually. Much blood has been shed to win these rights, in workers’ struggles world over and in revolutions that aimed to end labor exploitation and oppression of all the toiling masses including the proletariat. These rights were won as a cumulative effect of both of these kinds of struggles as the whole. And now the NDA government is bent on turning the clock of history back by bringing in these amendments. In fact, it is following the path treaded by all the previous governments in power since the New Economic Policies were introduced in 1991 and LPG policies gained momentum, in bringing in these anti-working class measures with the prodding of the imperialists. In fact, Indira Gandhi tried to bring such changes in labour laws in 1982 itself but had to withdraw due to severe opposition to these. The UPA government has several such anti-working class measures in its account including some equally atrocious amendments to labor laws. All those measures not been possible for the coalition governments would now be made possible through the ‘majority’ government that claims to have the ‘mandate’ of the people. Did the people give them the ‘mandate’ to deny them their very fundamental rights? In its 100 day rule the Modi led NDA government would go down in history for its record of bringing forth one or more anti-people measures during each day of its rule, this slew of anti-labor amendments being the latest. Modi & Co is playing the archetypal comprador by opening hitherto unopened sectors and partially opened sectors to full entry of FDI. Already SEZs are functioning like countries within a country with their own set of anti- worker measures and not bound by the Indian Constitution. Not just the Centre, almost every State government has a dubious record of brutally crushing the struggles of workers and employees when they resorted to strikes or agitations for their just demands. The crushing of striking State government employees in Tamilnadu and the repression on workers in Gurgaon of Haryana are just stark examples. In fact, it was the BJP government in Rajasthan that cleared a Cabinet proposal to amend three key labour laws on 5th July itself. In face of severe opposition it retracted saying they were ‘mere proposals.’ The judiciary is doing its part in pushing the globalisation agenda by passing anti-labor judgments including the infamous judgment banning strikes. The corporate media is providing deceptive arguments to support such anti-worker policies saying they would ‘provide employment’, ‘create jobs’ ‘increase share of manufacturing in GDP’ etc. With unemployment and under-employment reaching higher proportions in the context of the worldwide economic crisis and inflation soaring, the real wages of the workers are increasingly getting depressed. The people are increasingly finding themselves in the classic capitalist quagmire where the ones who manage to get work are made to work for extremely long hours under horrible working conditions and outside the factory gates the starving workers mill around without getting even one hour of work to feed themselves or their families. This huge reserve army of the unemployed is further pushing down the wages of the workers due to cut-throat competition for work. Coupled with the latest anti-labor amendments, the situation would become grimmer for the working people in our country. Though the ruling classes juggle with figures of growth rate citing increasing investment of speculative capital in the stock market and try to pass it off as an indication for the development of the country, they very well know that real wealth comes from the labour of the workers. They know very well that only by exploiting the labourers to their last drop of blood, can they fill their coffers to the brim and wallow in luxuries. Now the need of the hour is for the working class to realise this fact more clearly and organise and wage a bitter class struggle against their exploiters and the comprador politicians who lick their boots. There has been a spurt in working class struggles all over the world particularly in the context of the worldwide economic crisis. Even the US and Europe have witnessed movements like Occupy Wall Street, not to mention the huge demonstrations and agitations all over Europe against layoffs, cutting down of welfare and the loss of savings due to bank crashes. The working class in India is also erupting in struggles for better working conditions and workers’ rights like the right to form unions or even to hold meetings or dharnas. The workers and employees have not taken such amendments to labour laws lying down. There have been vehement militant and peaceful protests including a Bharat bandh by all the trade unions against such a previous attempt by the UPA government. Mainstream trade unions have also criticised the above amendments to labour laws. The need of the hour is for all the trade unions and employees associations to come together to fight back this ruling class offensive on the entire working people. CC, CPI (Maoist) calls upon the workers of our country to unitedly rise against the latest anti-working class amendments brought forth by the Modi led NDA government and bring it to its knees through their militant struggles and protests. It appeals to all democratic and progressive organisations and individuals to stand by the workers in their struggles and lend their voice against the super-exploitation of workers by the comprador rulers of our country to feed the imperialist beast. Unmask the Vikas model of Modi government which is country selling, treacherous and anti-people. It is nothing but a model of the imperialists aiming at exploiting, oppressing and repressing the toiling masses of our country. Let us unite and fight back this treacherous and pseudo Vikas model and build independent, self-reliant, people oriented development model. The Unknown Kurd Revolution

Even as Islamic fundamentalists are advancing in Kobane, the resistance from the Kurds are also very stiff. As Abdullah Ocalan, the imprisoned Kurd leader, says the fall of Kobane could mean the end of everything for the Kurds. A genocide of the Kurds and Yazidis could be the result. But at present the Kurds are resisting bravely. Though the Western media are reporting news about the ISIS campaign and the bombing by the US, not much is known to the outside world about the Kurds. In fact this is the dilemma the US is facing as well. It was the US, that armed all kinds of Islamic fundamentalists including ISIS in order to overthrow Bashar al Assad regime and take control of the country. And now when the ISIS is slipping out of its control, the US is carrying out mild bombings against them. However they don't want an ISIS defeat either. And Turkey, a US ally is arming the the ISIS against the Kurds and preventing the Kurd fighters from Turkey to join their comrades on the Syrian side.

A Little Bit of History And PKK Polititics

However the progressive forces across the globe is keenly watching the Kurd fight as its a fight to protect a unique revolution. The Kurds, spread across Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria had been waging a war for a separate nation since 1970s. Founded In 1978 by some Marxist Leninist students under the leadership of Abdullah Ocalan, PKK wanted a separate Kurdistan for Kurd people and had been engaging in a people's war.Though Ocalan has abandoned Leninism since his arrest by the CIA in 1999 leading the party to adopt his new political platform of Democratic Confederalism its still viewed as a far left political formation. As Ocalan himself described "the democratic confederalism of Kurdistan is not a state system, its the democratic system without a State. It takes its power from the people and adopts to reach self sufficiency in every field including economy." PKK now upholds Democratic Confederalism, Libertarian socialism, Communalism, Feminism.  So the PKK now talks of 'stateless revolutionary democracy' and defies nation state concepts. Obviously Some political observers feel their ideological moorings are still Marxism. And that could be why the Maoist Communist Party of Turkey (MKP) and Marxist Leninist Communist party are offering full support to this movement though while retaining their political differences of opinion. All these Communist parties are sending people and arms to Kobane from Turkish side.

Unique and Unparalleled Political Experiment in Rojava.

Since its capture of Rojava, in the Syrian civil war, a unique and Unparalleled political experiment is going on there. As David Graeber wrote in The Guardian "The autonomous region of Rojava, as it exists today, is one of few bright spots – albeit a very bright one – to emerge from the tragedy of the Syrian revolution. Having driven out agents of the Assad regime in 2011, and despite the hostility of almost all of its neighbours, Rojava has not only maintained its independence, but is a remarkable democratic experiment. Popular assemblies have been created as the ultimate decision-making bodies, councils selected with careful ethnic balance (in each municipality, for instance, the top three officers have to include one Kurd, one Arab and one Assyrian or Armenian Christian, and at least one of the three has to be a woman), there are women’s and youth councils, and, in a remarkable echo of the armed Mujeres Libres (Free Women) of Spain, a feminist army, the “YJA Star” militia (the “Union of Free Women”, the star here referring to the ancient Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar), that has carried out a large proportion of the combat operations against the forces of Islamic State" . And as Ali Bektas writes, "The radical Kurdish movement’s emphasis on women’s autonomy and empowerment must be underlined. There have been numerous PKK units and guerrilla camps which are only for women. Nearly all political organizations they form have two leaders, one a man and another a woman. Following in this tradition, on April 2, 2012 in Rajava, the autonomous force the YPJ (Women’s Defense Forces) was formed within the YPG (the People’s Defense Forces). Both the YPG and YPJ have had to defend the revolution of Rojava nearly constantly from both the Ba’athist regime as well as the various stripes of Islamists who have turned Syria into the latest front of their jihad." In short, whatever our disagreements with the Kurdish leadership, whats going on there is a unique experiment, an experiment the progressive forces across the world have to take notice of.  It is not only a fight to resist a genocide, but also a fight to create a better world, a brave new world. As is said the people's hangmen US and Turkey's ropes will not save the Kurd people. Its for the progressive people across the world to protect this Kurd revolution and the Kurd people.

EMERGING KURDISTAN: SOCIALIST OR CAPITALIST?

The last decade has seen many maps published by 'Think Tanks' and/or 'intelligence organisations' in which the Middle East gives birth to 'new nations/states'. The latest developments in the Middle East have had Western specialists-strategists-analysts playing with their pencils, rulers and compasses, doodling all over their maps of the Middle East; once again hoping to carve up the region to best fit the interests of their imperial masters.

In most prophecies Iraq is divided into at least three parts, Syria is hurtling towards dissection and, well, it seems no country in the Middle East will remain unscathed by the rearrangement of what were already pretty horrendously drawn borders. Who is behind this? Who is supporting who? Who does not want this to happen? Although all of these are legitimate questions, they are already heavily speculated on by the media and therefore do not require any additions; in fact, no addition will be original, so there is no point.

However, there is one new country — that most pseudo-strategists have been predicting since the second Gulf War — that became a dead certainty when a few days ago Israeli Foreign Minister told his US counterpart it was a "foregone conclusion" and that is the emergence of an independent Kurdish homeland: Kurdistan.

With a population of over 40 million spread across four countries in the region, the Kurds have been referred to as "the largest nation in the World without a state". A reference which has led to the creation of a deep inferiority complex among a people credited with being the ancient people of a land (Mesopotamia) that has been referred to as "the cradle of civilisation". However, the Kurds — the revolutionaries of the Neolithic Era — have been largely deprived of taking their place in the "World System" ever since.

The latest surge from sectarian extremists, among other things (of which most are not even inline with human decency), has de facto marked out the borders of South/Southwest Kurdistan. The successful defence of Rojava (west) Kurdistan by the Kurds against al-Qaeda and its offshoots has, in the minds of most, already established Rojava as Kurdistan's first 'fully liberated' territory and the previously 'disputed territories' in South Kurdistan are now seemingly undisputed and under the control of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

However, it is still not straight-sailing from here for the, all but rubber-stamped, newest country in the World. The burning question now — and according to some it has always been — is what kind of Kurdistan? The answer to this — though maybe not as much of a turbulent ride as it has been to actually get the existence of Kurdistan acknowledged — is where the new internal and external struggle lies for the Kurds.

Some may say that it is not helpful for the Kurdish national cause that the two most popular political institutions in Kurdistan (The PKK and the KDP) each have their own different answers to the question posed above. However, although the PKK and KDP have in the past even engaged in military battles against each other, it is widely accepted that in the foreseeable future the political and ideological differences between the two organisations will be fought out politically rather than militarily. This fight has long kicked off.

The backgrounds and profiles of both organisations are full of clues as to what their answers are to the question of what kind of Kurdistan they would like to see constructed:

The PKK is a socialist organisation; the KDP is not.

The KDP is pro-corporation; the PKK is not.

The KDP's strategic partners: USA, Israel, EU, Turkey.

The PKK's strategic partners: Trans-national civil society organisations, socialist/ecologist/feminist organisations, Latin American social movements.

The KDP's vision for Kurdistan: A Kurdish nation state, capitalist-free market economy, representative parliamentary democracy.

The PKK's vision for Kurdistan: A stateless multi-national Kurdistan, communal-ecological economy, confederal-localised direct democracy.

As we can see above, the KDP's vision for Kurdistan is one that will easily fit into the current globalised capitalist system, whereas the PKK's vision for Kurdistan will stick out like a sore thumb. Maybe this was one of the reasons as to what led Kevin McKiernan to call his brilliantly shot documentary "Good Kurds, Bad Kurds" all the way back in 2000 (the "Good Kurds" being the KDP led Kurdish uprising in the South and the "Bad Kurds" being the PKK led Kurdish uprising in the North).

While both the PKK and the KDP took up arms to struggle for Kurdistan, it is the PKK that takes its place on terrorist organisations lists in the USA, EU and the UK; whereas the KDP takes its place in official state visits to the very same countries, not to mention regularly plays host to the visits of their Secretaries of State. Is it really a far stretch to think that the ideological differences between these two organisations is what really determines the approaches of these Western states?

So, we can see that the long-running ideological-political-military confrontations between the PKK and the KDP cannot be solely explained by a power struggle between the two as to who will dominate Kurdistan. This is a systemic confrontation; and the PKK and the KDP are not the sole players. The global capitalist powers are actively trying to suffocate the socialist countries of Latin America on a daily basis; and here, they are actively working on preventing a Kurdistan that will be a threat to the capitalist system (PKK's vision for Kurdistan), but pushing for one that will fit like a glove (KDP's vision for Kurdistan).

This would also explain the West's silence and reluctance to acknowledge Kurdish efforts in Rojava. Whereas the KRG administrated South Kurdistan is a prototype for KDP's vision for an independent (by independent I mean West leaning) Kurdistan; Rojava Kurdistan is a prototype for PKK's vision for a socialist, ecologist and confederal Kurdistan. Both of these comparative societal constructs are formed by Kurds; however, one is promoted by the West as a beacon for the Middle East, the other is being isolated and left to face its own destiny in the face of attacks from sectarian extremists.

Although the formula seems extremely clear:

PKK for a socialist Kurdistan.

KDP for a capitalist Kurdistan.

It would seem preferential for the Kurdish national cause if this ideological junction could be dealt with after Kurdistan addressed its immediate adversaries. However, the likelihood is that we will see more bloodshed before we get an answer to what kind of Kurdistan will emerge...

Why is the world ignoring the revolutionary Kurds in Syria?

In 1937, my father volunteered to fight in the International Brigades in defence of the Spanish Republic. A would-be fascist coup had been temporarily halted by a worker’s uprising, spearheaded by anarchists and socialists, and in much of Spain a genuine social revolution ensued, leading to whole cities under directly democratic management, industries under worker control, and the radical empowerment of women.

Spanish revolutionaries hoped to create a vision of a free society that the entire world might follow. Instead, world powers declared a policy of “non-intervention” and maintained a rigorous blockade on the republic, even after Hitler and Mussolini, ostensible signatories, began pouring in troops and weapons to reinforce the fascist side. The result was years of civil war that ended with the suppression of the revolution and some of a bloody century’s bloodiest massacres.

I never thought I would, in my own lifetime, see the same thing happen again. Obviously, no historical event ever really happens twice. There are a thousand differences between what happened in Spain in 1936 and what is happening in Rojava, the three largely Kurdish provinces of northern Syria, today. But some of the similarities are so striking, and so distressing, that I feel it’s incumbent on me, as someone who grew up in a family whose politics were in many ways defined by the Spanish revolution, to say: we cannot let it end the same way again.

How can something like this happen and still be almost entirely ignored by the international community, even, largely, by the International left? Mainly, it seems, because the Rojavan revolutionary party, the PYD, works in alliance with Turkey’s Kurdish Worker’s Party (PKK), a Marxist guerilla movement that has since the 1970s been engaged in a long war against the Turkish state. Nato, the US and EU officially classify them as a “terrorist” organisation. Meanwhile, leftists largely write them off as Stalinists.

But, in fact, the PKK itself is no longer anything remotely like the old, top-down Leninist party it once was. Its own internal evolution, and the intellectual conversion of its own founder, Abdullah Ocalan, held in a Turkish island prison since 1999, have led it to entirely change its aims and tactics.

The PKK has declared that it no longer even seeks to create a Kurdish state. Instead, inspired in part by the vision of social ecologist and anarchist Murray Bookchin, it has adopted the vision of “libertarian municipalism”, calling for Kurds to create free, self-governing communities, based on principles of direct democracy, that would then come together across national borders – that it is hoped would over time become increasingly meaningless. In this way, they proposed, the Kurdish struggle could become a model for a wordwide movement towards genuine democracy, co-operative economy, and the gradual dissolution of the bureaucratic nation-state.

Since 2005 the PKK, inspired by the strategy of the Zapatista rebels in Chiapas, declared a unilateral ceasefire with the Turkish state and began concentrating their efforts in developing democratic structures in the territories they already controlled. Some have questioned how serious all this really is. Clearly, authoritarian elements remain. But what has happened in Rojava, where the Syrian revolution gave Kurdish radicals the chance to carry out such experiments in a large, contiguous territory, suggests this is anything but window dressing. Councils, assemblies and popular militias have been formed, regime property has been turned over to worker-managed co-operatives – and all despite continual attacks by the extreme rightwing forces of Isis. The results meet any definition of a social revolution. In the Middle East, at least, these efforts have been noticed: particularly after PKK and Rojava forces intervened to successfully fight their way through Isis territory in Iraq to rescue thousands of Yezidi refugees trapped on Mount Sinjar after the local peshmerga fled the field. These actions were widely celebrated in the region, but remarkably received almost no notice in the European or North American press.

Now, Isis has returned, with scores of US-made tanks and heavy artillery taken from Iraqi forces, to take revenge against many of those same revolutionary militias in Kobane, declaring their intention to massacre and enslave – yes, literally enslave – the entire civilian population. Meanwhile, the Turkish army stands at the border preventing reinforcements or ammunition from reaching the defenders, and US planes buzz overhead making occasional, symbolic, pinprick strikes – apparently, just to be able to say that it did not do nothing as a group it claims to be at war with crushes defenders of one of the world’s great democratic experiments.

“Today, Madrid is a homeland”! was the slogan of internationalists in defense of republican Madrid against the military units of fascist Franco. 

Kobane, the starting point of Rojava Revolution, has been under siege and constant great massacre threat of barbaric ISIS for 15 days. The ISIS mobs, who reached the gates of Kobane on 26 September, can make great massacre at any time. The AKP government in Ankara has supported the ISIS attacks by giving them weapons and ammunitions. It plans to destroy Rojava Revolution by using the ISIS and then to occupy the region through announcement of “buffer zone”.

The ISIS mobs have got the heavy weaponry such as missiles, tanks and artilleries taken from Iraq-Mosul army and Syria Hezekiah regiments. And the people of Kobane and YPG (People’s Protection Units) have got Kalashnikovs and rockets in their hands. In spite of the extreme inequality of weapons, the people of Kobane and YPG will resist heroically and create the “Stalingrad” of Kurds. They have been continuing with their heroic resistance for 15 days now. However, the ISIS, leaning on the extreme superiority of weaponry, will try to destroy the city and cause a great mass killing. 

The imperialist forces led by the USA have agreed to strike ISIS on the air. They again lit the fire of war under the pretext of ISIS. But, although they have agreed on the air strikes of ISIS, they consider it as something not to hurry up. They also plan to destroy Rojava Revolution by ISIS starting from Kobane and then to attack ISIS.

Rojava: a struggle against borders and for autonomy

As ISIS lays siege on the autonomous Kurdish enclave of Kobanê, thousands of Kurds try to break down the Turkish-Syrian border to join their comrades.

The struggle to abolish borders which separate peoples from each other, is commonly represented by certain well known and extreme examples. The militarized wall between the US and Mexico is one clear case in the consciousness of the Western left. Another disgusting manifestation is the stranglehold of Israel’s apartheid wall around the West Bank. Less well known, despite a hundred years of fierce struggle, are the borders that separate the 40 million Kurdish peoples from each other and which span across Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.

The Kurdish aspiration to destroy these borders is reaching its peak today on the boundary that separates Turkey and Syria. As a result of decades of resistance to these nation states, the radical Kurds of Turkey and Syria are taking advantage of the geopolitical shake-up in the region and are declaring their regional autonomy. But before we examine the current situation, a brief sketch of the historical context is in order.

A History of Struggle

In the midst of the First World War, the semi-secret Skyes-Picot pact between Britain and France prefigured the borders which would define Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan and Iraq for a hundred years to come. After a four year war under the helm of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the father of modern-day Turkey, the Turkish Republic was formed with the Lausanne Agreement in 1923. Turkey was not only a project resulting from an independence war but also from the creation of an artificial national identity. This Turkish identity began to erase all other ethnicities and cultures which it regarded as a threat, and the Kurdish people were at the top of this list. After being carved up and divided by the imperial powers of Europe, the Kurds now found themselves being erased by the budding Turkish nationalism.

The 20th century history of the Kurds within the borders of Turkey is ripe with rebellions and ensuing massacres such as the events of Dersim that started in 1938. This instance alone left more than 10,000 Kurds dead and at least as many forcefully removed from their homes. Without a doubt, the most resilient Kurdish resistance movement emerged with the formation of the the Kurdish Workers Party, or PKK, in 1978. Formed by Marxist-Leninist students and led by Abdullah Öcalan, the PKK became a formidable enemy of the Turkish state as it waged a guerrilla war of independence, most aggressively in the late 1980s and 1990s.

At that time, the goal of the PKK was to create a unified Kurdistan along socialist principles. The PKK operated training camps across the border from Turkey in Iraq but more notably in Syria, especially in the Bekaa Valley near Lebanon. As a testament to its transborder aspirations, the PKK and its leader Öcalan left a deep mark on Kurds in Western Kurdistan, located in northern Syria. The 30 year civil war left more than 60,000 people dead within Turkish borders, the vast majority of them Kurds, members and sympathizers of the PKK, as well as 4,500 Kurdish villages evacuated and burnt by the Turkish military.

In 1999, Turkish special forces were able to capture Öcalan from exile in Rome (via Kenya), and the scope of the Kurdish struggle started to take a new form. From his extreme isolation in an island prison in the middle of the Marmara Sea, Öcalan began to make references to the Zapatistas and even to the relatively obscure social ecologist Murray Bookchin. The war for independence became transformed into one for autonomy, self-governance and expression of their identity such as using the Kurdish language, banned until very recently. More emphasis was placed upon the non-guerilla organizations of the Kurdish people, both their legal political parties but also on different modes of civil disobedience and the beginnings of an autonomous mode of federative governance.

The Kurds in Turkey had not been the only group under the yoke of a repressive nationalist Kemalism. Secularism, one of the pillars of the Turkish Republic, had been steadfastly preserved by its guardian — the Turkish Armed Forces — which targeted various stripes of Islamists vowing for power. But the tables turned at the turn of the century when the Justice and Development Party (AKP) put forth a program conjoining neoliberal development and Islam and swiftly rose to power. The AKP, with the rabid yet shrewd Erdoğan as its chief, became the first Turkish government to start a dialogue with PKK leadership in Oslo in 2008. Although mostly window-dressing, such interchange was unheard of until that moment.

In Kurdistan, the Sun Rises from the West

Today, the situation for the Kurds has taken a different turn with the dawn of the Arab Spring and its spread to Syria. The Syrian people were not able to bring a swift departure to their despotic leader Bashar Al-Assad as had been the case in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. Instead, the country plunged into a still raging war against the last remaining Ba’athist dictatorship in the region. From this desperate mess emerged Rojava on July 19, 2012.

Rojava, meaning West in Kurdish, was the product of what is referred to as a Democratic People’s Revolution by those who took advantage of the weakening of the Ba’athist regime, namely the PYD (the Democratic Unity Party). Their territory is comprised of three cantons in northern Syria, Cizîr to the East, Efrîn to the West and Kobanê in the middle. Instead of forming a state, the PYD seek to implement democratic autonomy and self-governance with assemblies that extend down to the neighborhood level. In January of this year, their Democratic Autonomous Assembly passed a “social agreement” which guaranteed decentralization, free education in the native tongue, healthcare, housing and an end to child labor and any discrimination against women.

The radical Kurdish movement’s emphasis on women’s autonomy and empowerment must be underlined. There have been numerous PKK units and guerrilla camps which are only for women. Nearly all political organizations they form have two leaders, one a man and another a woman. Following in this tradition, on April 2, 2012 in Rajava, the autonomous force the YPJ (Women’s Defense Forces) was formed within the YPG (the People’s Defense Forces). Both the YPG and YPJ have had to defend the revolution of Rojava nearly constantly from both the Ba’athist regime as well as the various stripes of Islamists who have turned Syria into the latest front of their jihad.

A Gang called ISIS

Meanwhile, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, formed in 2009, gradually matured into a full-fledged Salafist organization and expanded its operations to Syria, renaming itself the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Their form of jihad and power struggle led to their disavowal by Al Qaeda earlier this year, and ISIS quickly became the reigning address for Islamic extremists looking to join the holy war. ISIS stepped into the limelight of the Western media with its capture of Mosul in Iraq on June 10, 2014. But the autonomous regions of Rojava have also been under a fierce ISIS assault for more than a year.

Three weeks ago, on July 2, ISIS began a siege of Rojava’s central canton of Kobanê, using military equipment and munitions captured following their victory in Mosul. ISIS is trying to take Kobanê from the east, west and south and this ongoing siege constitutes the most serious threat that Rojava has come under thus far. The Kurdish movement in Turkey identifies deeply with Rojava since the PYD has been enormously influenced by the leadership of Öcalan. Therefore, a threat to the revolution in Rojava also constitutes a serious threat for the aspirations of regional autonomy for Kurds living within the borders of Turkey. In addition, many believe that the Turkish state is using ISIS for a proxy war against Kurdish autonomy by supplying them with arms and intelligence and free movement across its borders.

Following the ISIS siege of Kobanê, Kurdish and Leftist political actors in Turkey — namely the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) and BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) — mobilized to intervene in the situation. Starting on July 9, they set up four different encampments along the border in strategic locations to prevent regular ISIS movements in and out of Turkey so they could bring their wounded to Turkish hospitals and receive logistical support from the Turkish state. These encampments have also been used as staging grounds to cross the border en masse to join the YPG and YPJ forces in their defense of Kobanê. The current climate within the Kurdish movement in Turkey is one of a wartime mobilization with daily calls by party members for the youth to remove the borders and join the defense forces in Rojava.

 
One of the largest crossings in defiance of the border came on July 14, when approximately 300 youth crossed into Kobanê and were greeted by YPG members on the other side who would guide them across the minefield between the border and Kobanê. But this was only the prelude to what would be a historic celebration of the Kurdish struggle for regional autonomy, on the second anniversary of the revolution in Rojava.

Destroying the Border

All day and into the night on July 18, thousands of Kurds flooded into the encampment in the township of Pirsus (Suruç in Turkish). Tents had been set up near the village of Alizer, a village literally divided by the border between Turkey and Syria. People came from all over Kurdistan to celebrate the revolution in Rojava and to remove the border so as to join their compatriots on the other side in their war against ISIS.

The next day, on the 19th, the air was filled with the dry dust as the camp was set up in the middle of a fallow field under gusts of scorching winds. The sun shone hard at 45ºC, yet people kept coming and joining in the ongoing halay (a circular dance popular amongst Kurds). With more people came more and more tanks and armored personal carriers of the Turkish military as well as the water canons and other armored vehicles of the police.

The tanks and troops of the Turkish military arrived from a nearby base which has on its entrance the words “The border is honor” emblazoned on its entrance. Yet the Kurdish villagers and militant youth were not intimidated by the show of force and remained determined to destroy this border between them and their comrades under siege. On the other side of the border, thousands of Kurds from Kobanê arrived to embrace those separated from them by a flimsy barbed wire. As nighttime set in and the air became cooler, fireworks started to light the sky in a great celebration of the revolution. People were restless and the barbed wire lost any semblance of a deterrent it once represented. The stage was set for a spectacular confrontation.

And that confrontation came as promised. After the wires were clipped, a few hundred Kurdish youth crossed into Kobanê to be greeted by a delegation from the YPG. The police and military brutally attacked the celebration launching hundreds of teargas canisters into the area, as well as assaulting the crowd with batons and water cannons. The perseverance of the people was pure inspiration as everyone from the most bold and wild youth to old grannies joined the resistance against the forces of the Turkish state with rocks, molotov cocktails and fireworks. From the stage came directives for people to come and join those fighting or at least to come with their cars to help evacuate the wounded. After a two hour battle, the police and soldiers forced their way into the area with the tents and set fire to it all.

Five hours later, the military launched an operation at another encampment 30 kilometers away, near the village of Ziyaret, at the township of Birecik. The front lines of the siege of the Kobanê canton is visible from this point and this camp was strategically placed to sabotage ISIS movements and provide support and solidarity to the YPG. The people at that camp fought the military off and regained control of the camp only to have to endure another more vicious attack the following morning, on July 21, during which soldiers and police burned the tents and destroyed the cars of those there, arresting eight people after beating them.

Rojava for the Middle East

In the Western media, when one hears of Kurds or Kurdistan it is most often in reference to Mesud Barzani and the Kurdish territory under his control in Northern Iraq, which has also extended its sovereignty in the current context created by ISIS. It must be pointed out that this political formation has minimal affinity with the radical revolutionary one launched by the PYD in Rojava. In fact, both the PYD and PKK often find themselves in open conflict with Barzani’s vision for the Kurds. Occasionally doing the bidding of colonial states, Barzani is also a frequent visitor of Erdoğan. In fact, as recent as last week he flew to Ankara to meet with him and discuss the situation unfolding in the region.

The siege around Kobanê by ISIS is continuing but the YPG and YPJ are determined to thwart it and as of today have begun to take back territory from them. Meanwhile, their comrades on the Turkish side of the border have begun to rebuild the encampment at the village of Ziyaret and vow to stay there until ISIS is fought off. They see the defense of Kobanê as the crucial battle to keep the battle for Kurdish autonomy alive. Many compare this current mobilization to that which took place in defense of the Spanish Revolution against the fascists in the late 1930s. The crushing of the Spanish Revolution had global repercussions that are still being felt today. Similarly, the perseverance of the revolution in Rojava is the only remote hope for a different kind of Middle East, where peoples come together in solidarity with each other rather than at war under sectarianism stoked by colonial powers.
